I’ve seen this one before.

quote:

Happy to report #themarvels is a blast. It’s fun, funny & the cast is so good together.

quote:

Nia DaCosta’s #TheMarvels is a delight! The power-swapping plot is cool & all, but the real fun comes from the stellar chemistry between Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris & Iman Vellani. Low stakes aside, it delivers some of Marvel’s best action & comedy to date! See it with a crowd!

quote:

Nia DaCosta’s #TheMarvels is a great time at the movies! It’s well paced & full of frantic, hilarious energy. I even liked it more than 2019’s #CaptainMarvel. This thing moves!

quote:

#TheMarvels is the most fun I’ve had watching a superhero movie in a while!

The Marvels early reactions

I’ll wait until the non-paid shills see it.

They wanna see the version with the cool graphics like Avatar.

Anyone who prefers this uncanny valley detritus over the old school, hand drawn animation masterpieces is welcome to them.

Snow White (1937) is going to be talked about and loved 1000 years from now - a literal masterpiece. "Snow White" (2025) is only going to be talked about after the next few weeks in the context of what "not" to do.

Ive got some bad news for you. They prefer fortnite over the old 16 bit Mario games as well.

Ive never got into fortnite, but its understandable why kids arent excited to play or watch stuff from their parents generation or in this case their great
great great grandparents generation.

There's no way you actually believe this.

Anyone who isn't a fan of Gal Gadot is not to be trusted.

There is no way the movie can convince anyone that Rachel Zegler is such a transcendent beauty that Gal Gadot is murderously jealous.

Remember when Disney was caught paying these people for good reviews?

Literally zero

I agree.

But the movie isnt Gadot, its "The Evil Queen".

It isnt like they cant use make-up to make her look worse.

Then you also have the caveat of her inner evil corrupting her overall beauty.

Of course, none of this will be a satisfactory answer for someone that doesnt want an answer, and just wants to complain about "bad writing" in a movie they haven't seen.

Im sure you can explain to us in real world terms exactly how the magic mirror in a fairy tale determines one's "fairness".

"You can't hide ugly" doesn't just apply to physical appearance.

Chris Gore and Alan Ng both said it’s dogshit with tons of exposition.

ould you believe this "Snow White" (2025) is the TWENTY THIRD live action Disney remake of one of its animated classics?

TWENTY THIRD

Is that counting spin-offs, sequels, prequels, etc?

For instance, I wouldn't consider "Mufasa," "Cruella," "Maleficent," or "102 Dalmatians" to be remakes specifically.

Some people have a tremendously low bar for what they consider entertaining. I think Netflix has conditioned people to accept absolute shite as the standard for movie/TV.

I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't consider numerous of those live action remakes. That would also be counting The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Fantasia), Maleficent 2 & 3, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Christopher Robin, and Peter Pan and Wendy.

It’s in my Top 5 of Disney live action remakes. Go see it!

Well, what is it competing against?

Pre-"Remake EVERYTHING" group:

The Jungle Book (forgot this one existed)
101 Dalmations
102 Dalmations
Alice in Wonderland
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Alice Through the Looking Glass* (This one came out after the "live action everything" trend but gets a 1/2 pass due to being a sequel to a movie that predates that.

Then the "Everything needs a live action remake":
Maleficent (at least this one was an original story)
Cinderella
The Jungle Book
Beauty and the Beast
Christopher Robin (not really a live action Winnie the Pooh, but sure)
Dumbo
Aladdin
The Lion King
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (I didn't even know this one existed)
Lady and the Tramp
Mulan
Cruella
Pinocchio
Peter Pan & Wendy
The Little Mermaid
Mufasa: The Lion King

The movies in italics aren't really "remakes" but are either prequels or side stories.

Considering the trash it's up against, and if you are REALLY into weird looking CGI dwarves, I could see it making your personal top 5.
