I dropped Disney over a year ago. Don’t miss anything. I get Max free with my cell plan or I would likely drop it as well. The only thing I pay for is Netflix and that’s really just for the wife.

Honestly I find myself watching PlutoTV and a couple of the other similar free streaming sites more than anything else. In my opinion there is already enough movies and Tv already filmed that Hollywood could shut down completely and I would be quite content selecting things filmed between 1935 and 2015 to last me the rest of my life. All Hollywood does anymore anyways is try to remake stuff from the past and it’s rarely better or even as good.

I don’t want to know what I’m paying monthly in the aggregate for cable tv plus the onslaught of streaming services we have but there is going to be a reckoning at some point soon. Cost cutting at the Regis household will be invoked, and I doubt Disney and Hulu make the cut.

What Disney doesn't seem to understand is that their most loyal streaming customers have small children and can't really afford a price increase to go along with Biden's inflation.

They have to hope Ahsoka turns the subscriber count around. Even if the show is amazing, that’s a big ask for one show in the entire library.

I have the 3-in-1 subscription and we do get a lot of mileage out of Hulu. Not so much Disney+. I wonder if they count that to their overall subscription count.

I would have to be convinced that they can increase revenue by cracking down on accounts being shared at the same time they are losing subscribers.

Tell that to Snow Brown and the 7 Diversity Homos.

The (relative) good news is that you can save on these price hikes starting on Sept. 6. Disney will roll out a new ad-free streaming bundle of Disney+ and Hulu for $19.99 per month

I have kids and Disney+ is essential.

I have two little girls, 6 and 9 - arguably the prime Disney target audience, and while it is certainly a nice to have, it is in no way essential. I could cancel it tomorrow, and within a week, they'd be over it.

However, I do find the depth of the content (all of those old movies and old tv shows) to be worth the price, at least for now, for my kids.

That said, the moment Disney stuff starts to fall out of favor with them, I'm canceling.

Uh, no you're not, you'll definitely change the marketing though (see Barbie).

We literally only have it for Bluey. YouTube has some of the episodes but it’s impossible to find another service in the states that has them all and can easily be streamed on the TV

Most stocks pay a dependable dividend. My shares of Disney according to my brokerage account do not have a predictable dividend for this entire year.

While none of us gave a shite, apparently Elemental has been steadily doing better and will now turn a profit. That’s surprising because I heard it sucked.

It didn’t suck. The story was kinda boring but the visuals were excellent and it was a good little movie. My kids really enjoyed it.

No idea why it got shite on so much
