I just finished watching it (DVR). Coming from someone that saw it 50+ times at "The Varsity" in the 80's, I enjoyed it. I agree, the worst part was casting a transsexual as a transvestite. The part needs to be more manly, some one trying to act like a woman, not a transsexual trying to act like a man trying to be a woman. Plus the part of Eddie was too soft. Eddie is supposed to be a man's man.

I missed it. I meant to watch it, but I forgot.

I will say, that when I heard the casting, I thought they missed out on a huge opportunity. Frankenfurter was a transvestite played by a fairly masculine song and dance man.

Howe do you not cast Hugh Jackman?

It was really bad in my opinion.

The highlight of the show was Victoria Justice by far. Columbia was ok, but everything else pretty much blew. They even butchered the into to "Time Warp".

I thought the set was cheap and cheesy. I mean when Frank-N-Furter is making his appearance they use a crane instead of an elevator like in the original.

I also caught myself asking why Brad didn't reach for his cell phone when they got the flat. maybe should have added a line in about no cell service.

Casting choices were terrible. Completely wrong singers for Frank, Eddie, Columbia, Magenta, and Riff-Raff.

Brad, Rocky, & Janet were good.
just looked it up - Ben Vereen was Dr.Scott. I liked him as well.
Sorry that Curry was even attached to this, but I understand why.

Are we now complaining that B-movie remakes are not faithful enough to the original? And that Rocky Horror is too transgressive?

Yeesh.

Agreed. The whole production looked like an early 2000s kids movie like:

Victoria Justice was crazy hot, though

Not at all. Maybe you are thinking about yourself. If you enjoy watching 2 guys fricking, more power to you.

You know what's funny is when I watched the Fox remake I thought it was pretty terrible, but it had its moments.

Then I rewatched Tim Curry's sweet transvestite scene:

LINK

Yeah that Fox thing was dogshit. Especially compared to grease, which they knocked out the park.

Thread reminded me to listen to the original soundtrack. Good music/good times.

you think the Rocky Horror movie is a sacred untouchable work you kind of miss the entire point of why it's still popular.

Seriously. But this board considers anything pre-2000 to be a sacred untouchable work.

Ghostbusters was infinitely more sacred than the original of this thing.

There's nothing sacred about frickin Ghostbusters. It's just that you were young and liked it so naturally there's sentimentality about it. I grew up with it too and have fond memories, but it's not a Renaissance artwork from an Italian master.

TBH, the new one was funny. Much funnier than the first two.

How does Fox put this on the air?

Megan Kelly should have played Frank. She has turned into a man with the butch haircut.

O'reilly as Rif-Raf.

Hannity as Rocky.

Loved Victoria. Only reason I kept it on.
