Day Shift, Jamie Foxx vampire movie on Netflix

Watched this tonight, not a bad movie at all. Jamie is a pool cleaner/vampire hunter in Los Angeles. Sort of has a Zombieland vibe to it at times. Dave Franco as his partner, Snoop Dogg as another hunter, Meagan Good as the ex-wife. Has a nice callback to the Lost Boys, plus a decent soundtrack.

It was a fun popcorn flick but you could tell they left a lot on the edit room floor that would have explained much of the plot holes. Couple of things happened just because. Honestly if it had better writers, I could see this being a pretty good series.

They mentioned something in the beginning about different types of vampires and how some could regenerate.

Yep, I feel like it would not have taken much to move this movie from a pretty mindless popcorn flick / never think about it again to something more like zombieland where its actually a decent movie.
That is Netflix's problem with movies, they get the allstar cast and a decent plot / idea / action scenes but then totally bomb the writing.

I enjoyed it. I felt t was similar to Army of the Dead in that I turned my brain off for a couple hours and watched decent action.

Good movie. I liked the Army of Thieves prequel more, though. Mostly because of Nathalie Emmanuel.
