Danny McBride confirms he's written a new 'G.I Joe' movie

• Goal is to film it in 2027

• G.I. Joe was his favorite franchise growing up

• Grounded action film — Not a comedy

• Focuses on Duke and his team

• Takes place in a town where everyone is secretly members of Cobra

• They're casting right now

Danny McBride is probably the smartest dumb looking guy I can think of. There's no innate reason beyond his ability to write that he could be a successful actor in Hollywood.

If you made a GI Joe movie that was explicitly and unapologetically pro-American and clear cut good guys vas bad guys, it would like clean up.

Those live action movies they made about 15 years ago were fricking terrible in every way.

The first one was somewhat decent, but the last two were just plain awful, so much wasted opportunity.

I mean he’s also legitimately hilarious on screen in pretty much everything he’s in.

I'm a huge GI Joe and fan I've never been more disappointed by a movie that the first one. I was hoping for nostalgia like I got from Transformers but it was a shite show for me.
