“Woah.”

Also you know damn well ole Gordo took Maria back to that baller arse beach house and banged her in the fully-windowed living room.

Also never realized that Gunnar was also Chris from City Guys. May need to bump karma's thread for that one.

That really pissed me off as a kid (even though the uniforms are sweet).

Do they even play hockey in Iceland? I just thought they went out in the woods and chanted while avoiding volcanos.

Clearly they couldn't use actual hockey powers for this movie when Trinidad and Tobago had a team in this tournament.

Letting Keenan on the team is ridiculous. Hey coach I found this kid on the street playing roller hockey and he hits the knuckle puck. Cool get him a uniform. Could this guy even skate?

That whole scene was effectively the Sandlot crew playing the organized team in a pick up game. (Coincidentally, Benny the Jet is the really fast skater that can't stop)

How did him and Goldberg swap uniforms without an arena full of people noticing?

I wanted to go back and check thinking perhaps they just put goalie pads on Russ but they did change entire uniforms

this movie was great..

As a kid, it was good to know that if my friends and I launched a hockey puck into some random black guy's windshield in downtown L.A., he would be really cool and throw it back for an assist

Yes. But at least he recognized that he was a legit trash hockey player and that he should give his spot up to Russ (it always bugged me that they were able to add a player that late into the games).

He also played one of the varsity players in D3.

ETA: S beat me to it.

I wish they made movies like this for my son like they made movies like this for me in the 90s.

Me and my boys have been burning through 90s movies that I loved when I was a kid.

My 11 year old told me the other day, "Man, I wish I was a kid in the 90s"

But she was all “I left my team in Maine to show the world what I can do” and when she finally gets her chance and gets into the game a short time later, she literally breaks the rules and gets booted before playing even one official second of game time.

How about during that game Portman gets ejected for a bullshite penalty and flips his shite in the locker room. Julie strolls in after her antics and just says "i now how you feel" like she got ejected for the same thing.

Most Icelandic men’s last names are composed of their father’s name + son (ie if Gunnar has a son it’d be Gunnarson). There are very few exceptions.

It's not just men. LSU has a women's soccer player from Iceland named Ida Hermansdottir.

She looks exactly like you would think a female athlete from Iceland would look.

Even as a kid, I thought how insane that scene actually was.

Why was Hans replaced by his brother for this? I doubt they intentionally wanted to write it that way.

Pretty sure it was a actor lack of availability thing

Check out the original D2 trailer. The music sounds like someone took the Back to the Future soundtrack and mixed the notes around. It sounds almost exactly the same.

The first half of it sounds like the opening theme to The Goonies to me. It switches over to Back To The Future about 40 seconds in.
