A onetime rodeo star and washed-up horse breeder, in 1978, takes a job from an ex-boss to bring the man's young son home and away from his alcoholic mom. Crossing rural Mexico on their back way to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman may find his own sense of redemption through teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.

Looks shitty, like all of his recent movies. I’m sure my parents will enjoy it.

Richard Jewell was good. But it was good in spite of Eastwood’s direction.
He’s known for getting scene done in 2 or 3 takes with the barest of coverage. As such, his movies have a flatness. Actors are wooden, set design is non-existent, editing is painfully linear. It’s very paint-by-numbers.
But when you get someone like Sam Rockwell to do your movie, they can liven it up and make the movie look 3x better.

Alot of soy boys in here hating on an American icon who doesn't bow to their bullshite. He continues to put out out great work but never mind that.

If he put a mask or cape on his characters with some neato superpowers, they’d like him better.

It’s probably an unpopular opinion by reading the comments in this thread, but I really loved “The Mule”. I recall it getting shite on pretty heavily, but I enjoyed the hell out of it despite its flaws. Clint’s still got it

I'll watch this and will probably enjoy it.
But man, Eastwood actually looks and sounds close to death.

Let's circle back to this.
Clint didn't really break out until he was older than average (particularly for a Hollywood leading man) with his early credits after he was already mid-20s. I don't think most Eastwood fans would count Ambush at Cimarron as a leading role for him (originally third billed), more of a "lead" support if anything.
So, his first true "lead" was as The Man With No Name in A Fistful of Dollars, when he was approaching mid-30s. That film was released 57 years ago.
Long story short - when 91 years old you will reach, look as good, you will not.

I will go see this movie. Dwight Yoakam with Clint Eastwood will make this a must see.

Guess I'm in the minority, but that trailer was awful. Just Clint grunting his lines and looking like a 90 year old trying to look 70 with plastic surgeries.
The 4 mph punch he threw was a nice touch.

Most Clint Eastwood directed movie trailers don't wow you but I never watched an Eastwood movie that was just awful.
