Cooler Movie Character: Marty McFly or Ferris Bueller?

BTTF and Ferris Bueller are two of my all time favorite films, and both have a permanent spot in my personal Top Ten movies of all time.
Which was cooler though? Marty was so cool, with his skateboarding on the backs of cars, his orange vest and his Toyota 4x4... But Ferris, he broke ALL the rules... and dating Sloane Peterson is way cooler than trying to date your own Mom...
Overall, i’d give the edge to Ferris... What say the OT?

Marty was a douche, but had the ability to time travel, so he likely wins.
Even though Ferris had a hotter girlfriend, he was no doubt going to face criminal charges from Cameron's dad after he got home from work. He rubbed that Ferrari with a diaper - not a chance in hell he lets that go.

Well, if we're making a comparison here, Ferris Bueller's best friend is a hypochondriac with a trigger temper and poor impulse control while Marty's is the guy that discovers the secret to time travel so Marty kind of wins that one, right?
