Christopher Nolan is the most overrated Director. And Dark Knight is a stupid film.

His best film is Batman Begins. And I'm dead serious when I say that.

The Dark Knight is really stupid when you actually study the concept. Everything in that movie happens because everybody makes the stupid choice. Not the wrong choice, the stupid choice.

The Joker's entire plan relies on Batman and Dent making very specific choices and actions. And one of those is that he will be in the same Jail that his guy with a phone bomb in his stomach is in. But before that, his plan relies on Batman and Dent coming up with a plan along with Gordon to "Bring him out" along a route that they decided right before they started the ruse.

Then it relied on Batman not killing him, which is why Batman is a stupid character that I've always put in the lower section of my favorite comic characters. The "no killing" rule is an idiotic rule.

Wolverine, The Punisher, and hell, Spiderman, would have killed the Joker in a heartbeat. Spiderman would have been the most reluctant, but would have done it anyway because there's no reason to let that man live.

But bac to the Dark Knight movie, the Joker's masterplan is one he has no control over. He puts his final chesspiece in the hand of others. Which makes no sense.

There are police on both boats. His plan is to trick the boats into blowing at least the other up by making them believe that if they don't, the other boat will blow them up, so they must strike first. But the police on both boats would take the triggers, and...that's it. Nobody would push the button.

And then Batman tells Gordon that he must proclaim him to be the villain to protect the image of Dent so that the citizens still believe in Dent and are inspired by what he preached.

But why? Why did Batman have to take the blame and become the bad guy? There was no reason to even think of that ploy, much less suggest it, and then agree to it.

Why blame Batman for Dent's crimes, when you could just blame the Joker?

The entire movie is stupid. It's like the Matrix: it's a film that delves into philosophical concepts that are considered deep by a person who only took an Intro to Philosophy course.

Gotta admit though: Ledger was good as the Joker. Still prefer Nicholson's, but Ledger was damn good.

It's a stupid movie.

Didn't read the rest of your rant but to people who don't fawn over Comic book movies, its probably the best Batman movie because its a real movie.

You didn't remotely need to have read the Comics.

Its just a guy who suffered a tragedy. Its the least Comic movie of the franchise.

Dark Knight was good because of how good Heath was as the Joker. He absolutely killed it.

As I said in the unpopular opinion thread, people only like the movie because it preserves the memory of Heath Ledger. It was an ok film, but terribly long and dry in a lot of spots.

if you didn't criticize the film when it first came out and people were orgasminig over it, then your opinion means little

people legit thought i was insane or trolling in real time after i came back after a midnight premier showing being critical of it

Movie must have been damn good. A shitty movie could not have evoked such a thought out diatribe.

Adding it to the watch list.

I don't mind someone saying Batman Begins is his best movie, but to say Dark Knight is stupid is...stupid

Wolverine, The Punisher,

I agree with your take about the no killing rule, but these were 2 of the worst examples you could have used

This can actually easily be planned if you know any details about police districts & holding cells.

OP also assumes that Joker’s plans were his ONLY plans and that he didn’t have contingencies.

I would say this is a troll thread but you spent too much time on the OP so if it is, you are trolling yourself with how much time you took on it.

But to say that Nolan is overrated and then discuss only two of his films, both of which are fricking comic book movies that totally revolutionized what a comic book movie could be, is borderline infantile and certainly idiotic. Memento, The Prestige, Inception, Insomnia are all great movies and Dunkirk and Interstellar, while flawed, are incredible pieces of cinema with high concepts, heightened drama, great acting and set pieces and intriguing stories.

Calling Nolan overrated but using only two films to discuss it is like calling Mariano Rivera a bad closer and using two blown saves as examples. It’s just facile and cheap.

It's literally a comic book superhero origin story and tbh, one of the better films on the subject ever made.

Memento, Inception, Interstellar, and Tenet were all pretty good films IMO. I can understand how some folks would be turned off to Nolan though. Most of his films require multiple watchings to fully get the plot.

You had me until Tenet. Just a garbage film.
