Character names for Black Widow film

Scarlet Johannson - Natasha Romanoff
Florence Pugh - Yelena Belova
Rachel Weisz - Melina Vostakoff/Iron Maiden
David Harbour - Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian
Interesting that no mention of who has been cast as Taskmaster yet. Also interesting is that Iron Maiden is a member of the Thunderbolts and that Red Guardian was Romanoff's husband in the comics.

David Harbour - Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian

it's been my thought that this movie would serve more as a vehicle to give ScarJo one real headlining part in the MCU as well as to introduce other characters that will be of some use. looks like that might be the case.

Not familiar with the comics. I'm assuming they can do something more interesting than shoot a pistol. I know its a stand alone for her but I cant see her carrying a movie, her character is just too boring.

Yelena is basically another black widow, Iron Maiden has a special suit which is pretty much bullet proof. Not too familiar with red guardian but looked him up and looks to be pretty much the same.

Fagbenie as Taskmaster has been confirmed from other sources. The rumor now is that it will be set after Civil War so Hawkeye and Falcon appearances are possible.

Harbor as Alexei Shastakov/Red Guardian and Weisz as Melina Volkoff/Iron Maiden has ALSO been confirmed by those same sources.
Your list got those two dead-arse wrong.
Most sources I've seen set the movie right after Civil War but before Infinity War.

Well that sucks somewhat. I was hoping for more of an origin story and bad black widow getting saved by Hawkeye to come to Shield. But introducing Taskmaster will not disappoint. Looking forward to this one.

I have a feeling that whatever they depict won’t measure up to Budapest as a noodle incident.
As far as the characters go, I love Taskmaster and that is a character that should be very well done simply because he can predict his opponent’s moves based off reading their past actions. He needs to survive this to be shunted off into the Deadpool films IMHO.
Yelena? Boring flat character from what I remember. Her origin miniseries read like someone followed around Chris Claremont on his personal time (her superior was killed by a dominatrix dressed up as her) and what little time she did spend fighting the Avengers saw her getting her arse kicked and set on fire.
