They honestly should have included Banner (Ruffalo) in this considering most of these characters are from his catalogue and not Cap’s tbh.
Yeah this was much more a Hulk sequel than anything Captain America.

it’s wild they won’t do a hulk movie with Ruffalo.

Maybe - and I know this is just an ABSURD notion - maybe some people here enjoyed the movie, and some didn't, and those folks may have held these opinions without any of it having ANYTHING to do with political leaning?
You just broke a lot of brains with that statement.

Unless things recently changed, Universal had the rights to solo Hulk movies, similar to Sony with Spiderman. I don't believe Universal and Disney ever had a shared agreement like with Spiderman/Sony though.
There is some discussion online that the rights may have reverted back to Disney in 2023, but I couldn't find a definite answer on that.
If there is a shared agreement with Universal, they might think a standalone Hulk movie wouldn't be worth it if they don't get to keep all the profit.

I didn't see this posted before so just FYI on the breakeven point for the movie:
quote:https://www.ign.com/articles/captain-america-brave-new-world-projected-to-beat-estimates-with-100-million-domestic-box-office-over-presidents-day-weekend
According to Deadline, Captain America: Brave New World had a production budget of $180 million, and has a break-even point of around $425 million global box office.

World of Reel
Here is an article that says the total budget was more like 380M (even if the production budget was 180M wouldn't the marketing costs add a lot more?).

from a guy that claimed it cost 350 million months ago and now has an agenda to prove that he wasn't wildly wrong.

Now, of course ‘Brave New World’ didn’t cost $180M. That’s simply too silly to believe. The actual budget was more than double that. It’s not just that, a few months ago, I had reported the costs on the film to have arisen in the $350M mark, but other journalists have now paralleled what I had originally written.
I don't know how much it cost, and I don't care if it made or lost money, but this whole back and forth battle is old and stale. people rooting for movies to fail so they can claim a win is pretty sad.

So the guy that originally started the whole $350 million rumor that lots of people started to cite as a source, is now citing the folks that cited his original article as proof he was correct?

I just saw it and I thought it was good. I enjoyed it for what it was.
Seems interesting that adamantium is being introduced into this new MCU, and this movie felt like a new beginning to the MCU and I liked it for that, and what it can lead in to for future movies.
I like Sam as Cap and I like how Bucky came back to tell him why he's Cap and why he doesn't need the serum, and I enjoyed Sam saying "should have taken the serum. Bucky is full of shite".
Just felt like a good beginning to this new phase of the MCU.

Just watched Nerdrotic's, err I mean Gary's video. Be does have good editing and production for a YouTube movie reviewer. But i totally disagree that the Marvels was better. Also calling him "captain African American" was dumb. Endgame was clear in who got the shield from Steve Rogers.
He said at the end of the video to not waste your time seeing the movie.
What happened to forming your own opinions?

Agreed on all points.
With them acting like adamantium is now discovered for the first time, it'll be interesting to see how they incorporate the X-Men down the line. Wolverine was experimented on with adamantium decades earlier, though I suppose that could always have been secret or a different timeline.

I do agree. With.... Gary. Just make The chick a mutant and it makes sense because she was too little to be that tough.

I wonder if Gary or SEK would agree that you're completely qualified to shite on Gary's take because you actually took the time to watch his take?

Was the exact same material as the Black Panther suit. Absorbs kinetic energy and channels it back.
They only mentioned that the Wakandans made it but that it glowed the same as T'challa's suit was the only explanation.

False. You didn’t hear this level of disagreement from me during the first 25 films of the MCU.
You are a relative noob. You didn't post here until almost 2022. Well after Endgame. You didn't post here during the rise of the mcu. You came here after covid.
If you look at your post you can clearly see you prefer the political talk board but your threads there get little engagement. So you come here with your crap.
You watch very few films and watch few tv shows. But are one of the most active posters.

So the second hill movie was produced by Marcel Studies and the distribution rights were originally Universal but I think disney has them now.
looks like they have a right to first refusal for any new movies too.

Not under this handled, but even so I still saw, and generally liked the first three phases of the MCU.
I don’t give two flips about engagement. I’m just gonna say my mind whether it gets 10 up votes or 20 down votes . The point about politics is that I don’t want it in my movies yet the goddamn studios insist on injecting DEI bullshite where it doesn’t belong.
