No worries. Fat arse Lizzo has an Emmy now for her show about other fat asses. Then she faked cried through her speech and gave a shout out to all the other fat asses sitting in the balcony all while dressed in someone's curtains from the 80's...

also the lead story on ABC this morning was how Abbott elementary won the night.....I wonder why

How dare they!

Nowadays it's a huge deal when a broadcast network show does well at the Emmy Awards. I'd assume that ABC will promote the hell out of the win.

It’s not worth caring about, BUT IF IT WAS, woo boy.

Awards shows were barely entertaining years ago. Now there’s just way too much other shite to watch for me to pay attention.

So glad I don’t watch the self absorbed freaks suck each other’s dicks handing out awards, but the fact neither of those two won for those excellent performances on BCS is robbery.

So dead that there are a record number of productions happening world wide. Just because most people aren't captivated by this particular ceremony is not indication of the level of consumption happening. Major companies and studios aren't making content for charitable reasons.

Yeah there really has been no point in my lifetime where the Emmy's or the Oscars weren't a self-fellating joke.

Their only legitimacy was that they aren't quite as bad as things like the Golden Globes. Which literally hand out awards based on who they can get to the show, and who sends them on the most elaborate trips.

Occasionally they get some things right, but it's typically the exception to the rule.

For instance Barry should have swept the comedy awards. There is nothing that comes close to touching it, including Bill Hader and Sarah Goldberg's performances(and she wasnt even nominated).

They've been in decline for a while now. The fact that they left Norm McDonald and Olivia Newton John off the In Memoriam section is laughable. Screw these people.

Norm was on last year’s I’ve read. He died a year ago tomorrow sadly. The Emmy’s last year were the week after his death.

People will act like its only because they went all woke, and not because they went all woke AND everyone has the exact content they want at their fingertips at all times now and would rather stream something than watch an awards show, Plus anything interesting that happens will go viral anyway and they can look up who got each award if they really want to.

Hilarious that you post shite like this in a television and film board that you post in frequently.

And that the nominees are no longer from shows that everyone watches. It's not three or four networks, or even four networks and HBO. Even if you have all of the premium channels and streaming networks, you don't have time to watch a decent portion of the 500+ programs that are out there. 20 years ago you wouldn't have people asking, "What the frick is the Sopranos?" as they're asking about White Lotus today. Who the hell knew that Lizzo had a reality show? When they started the reality category, we all knew the shows running, even if we didn't watch them. Now there are a hundred of them.

Even if they weren't political and preachy they would still be dreadfully boring. They are terrible f'ing tv in today's world.

The were only popular in the past because people had very limited viewing options and the chance to see celebrities was scarce.

Now you can watch much, much better stuff on demand whenever you want and if anything celebrities are over exposed these days.

I can't imagine sitting down and watching one of those award shows for a few hours, I'd honestly rather do house work.

There are more movies, good and bad, than ever before. You have more access to great movies than you ever have before. They ain't dead.
