Still not sure how to feel about this, Hart as Roland is just weird at best. At least Tina and Claptrap seemed to be cast well.

It looks fun to me. I'll at least give it a watch.

Isn’t clap trap supposed to be more dead pan humor? Are we sure black is right for that?

not that they could have avoided it, but they went weird enough to merit some interest.

I'll give James Gunn some credit for giving filmmakers permission to let their freak flags fly.

Makes sense. Hollywood mined the comic books to death for plots so we are entering the video game era. Cate looks old, Jamie looks really old, and this movie looks fun. Will watch.

Lilith is supposed to be in her late 20's early 30's. Look I love Cate Blanchett, but she looks like Liliths mother

I don’t like the casting.

Cate Blanchett as Lilith? Kevin Hart as Roland? Even Tiny Tina and Jack Black seem off.

Biggest qualm is Blanchett though. Lilith should be a younger actress. Roland should be a serious character foil to Tiny Tina’s insanity and humor. Humor doesn’t work with him.

None of it seems right to me with the casting.

Could be good, just doesn’t seem right.

Who is Jamie Lee Curtis playing?

tomb raider (Vrikland, )mario, twisted metal, last of us, and uncharted were the first ones to say "hey we can make these and not completely suck," like X-men, Spiderman, and Iron Man.

it does indeed make sense.

Exactly.

It’s like they picked big name actors simply to say, “Hey! Look who we have in this movie!”

That seems like simply a gimmick to bring people to the movie rather than actors who truly fit the roles

I don’t know.

It is just…off.

Lilith should have been played by someone like Karen Gillan.

This gives me Warcraft movie vibes.

Jamie Lee Curtis is playing Patricia Tannis and Gina Gershon is playing Mad Moxxie.

I genuinely don’t know what they were thinking with the casting. They missed the mark on Lilith, Tannis and Moxxie by like 20+ years.

That is more egregious than Blanchett.

Also, the short scenes of Curtis as Tannis seemed off in the trailer, now that I know her character.

This feels like a script written by someone who has never actually played the games and they were simply told “there is humor” and “this character has _____ personality”.

I honestly think they missed the casting on everyone.

The only one that may be serviceable is Tiny Tina.

Every other one seems wrong.

Didn't hate it. Kevin Hart not a great choice.

At least in the trailer, they didn't seem to much understand Tiny Tina, but i'll reserve judgement on that one.

Action and world looks good.

Would have been a good choice. I always thought Doborah Ann Woll could have been a good Lilith as well.

Big question is, who would you cast as Roland?

If only Dennis Haysbert wasn’t 70 years old.

I think Arianna Greenblatt is a perfect choice for Tina, the trailer just seems like they got her wrong though. She is an aloof, genius, explosive obsessed, psychopath.

Maybe it’s just hard to find someone who fits that bill.

I think Winston Duke could have been a decent choice. Jamie Foxx would be an interesting choice. Elba would have been a great one if this was made 5-10 years ago. He would still do a great job though.

ETA: I agree, I think Greenblat could do the character. I just don't think they understand the character at all. She seems way too normal in the trailers
