Namor was solid. I like that it ends ambiguous on whether he’s a good guy or bad guy

That's pretty much the same way he was throughout the early part of the Modern Age of Marvel... He will probably be a full fledged good guy in the MCU sooner or later

Ummm, my 5 year old sits perfectly quiet and watches movies...

So when you can’t think clearly and need to pause, you actually type out the word for filler noises?

However, all of that being said, the movie is a slough to finished instead of being engrossing. The best example of a long movie was Infinity War, you barely noticed the time passing. This one was like watching REturn of the King extended edition. You got your cool parts but there was a lot of unesscary "deadzone" that breaks up the film pacing.

This nails it. Just got out

Some of the scenes were cool, but this felt like a 4 hour movie.

Pretty much sums it up. It had a decent storyline, more compelling than I thought it would be, but it suffers from long stretches of lagging story. It would have been so much better with 20 minutes edited out.

It wasn't great but it wasnt' bad. I thought the action scenes were well done and the final fight between Namor and Shuri was well done- even with the emotional impact.

I didn't think the Aztec/Mayan angle worked as well as they wanted. It just seemed so different from the Comics. But it didn't ruin it for me.

Solid B. Most Marvel feeling property in a while IMO.

Isn't the message that the Wakandans are superior to the Talocans?

Not really. Wakanda got it's arse kicked in every battle.

SPOILERS:

But in the end Wakanda emerges victorious and Shuri shows mercy to Namor by sparing him and his people. IMO, I was more impressed with the Talocans, as they weren't as technologically advanced, but they were definitely more fierce in battle.

Its cause they didn't have a tight narrative and try to give everyone equal time which pretty much gave people around 10 min each, MC might have a bit more.

Really enjoyed this movie. Best one since No Way Home IMO. Grant it not much competition tbh with Dr. Strange 2 and Thor Love and Thunder.

Just such a lovely tribute to Chadwick Boseman.

Namor fricking ruled. Loved his character so much. His fighting abilities, flying, etc. He was a dick, he was an ally, he thought of his nation first. Wakandans and Namors people are the two most far right cultures on earth

But seriously, the mid credits was such a nice little moment. I was close to .

I was also the only loser to laugh at the "She is at the equivalent of a Wakandan Village School" comment from Okoye about Riri and MIT.

Riri was alright. Didn't see the need for her character but it's whatever. As someone mentioned earlier, M'Baku was fantastic. I hope he becomes the new king.

R.I.P Chadwick

Fully expect to be downvoted by people who refuse to watch because they think its woke or cuz the mcu sucks now and blah blah and that's okay. Think alot of people are gonna shite on it but I had a good time watching. I won't watch it again for a while but it served its purpose and that's okay with me. The character growth from everyone was some of the best yet in the MCU.

The movie was a solid B for sure. However, the way they paid homage to Boseman was class act.

You’re so use to hearing the music when the Marvel Studio logo comes up, and the pure silence and just scenes of Boseman was a fantastic tribute. They got that right.

Story was good in parts, but did slog in some others. Still think it was a good product considering they had to basically start from scratch due to Chadwick.

Coogler movies are always really good in the cinematography department and this was no different. A lot of close ups on the characters so we could really see the emotional toll. One of the better shot movies in the MCU.

ETA: Riri provided some cheap laughs, but her character didn't add anything after that. Just make the vibranium finder creator Shuri and it's the same movie.

Definitely

This one might be top 10 in my book. It was extremely well done. The whole movie’s theme of Shuri’s coming to terms with TChallas death was great, and it was so well acted from all of the actors bc you know it was real pain they felt. The entire movie had a tribute to TChalla theme that was really special

Acting and effects and visuals were very good. They really fleshed out all of these secondary actors to take TChallas place and it worked well enough. Story was good with those themes I mentioned and Namor was given a Thanos-type treatment to make him a very likeable, rational villain. I thought his power level was somewhat appropriate within the context of the story when you add in the water effect

The big theme of Shuri wanting vengeance like Killmonger or justice like TChalla was moving. Most Marvel movies don’t have big themes like these, and it really stood out

Shuri is still a weak link for me going forward as she lacks star power. Hopefully she doesn’t become a lead role in Avengers like TChalla would have been
