And at this point, I think we can finally admit that the Chinese are pumping most of the woke shite we see.

So... you think a movie with a gay black man as a fairy made by a Japanese conglomerate is aimed at the Chinese market? this is even worse than your idiotic “the Chinese are forcing the all women superhero movie” take for a culture that has 33 million more men than women due to traditionally valuing men over women. Is billy porter a dude?

Bc fairy godmother implies female.

If so this country, my god.

Were you mad when The Rock played the tooth fairy? Or when Tyler Perry played Madea? Or when John Travolta played Edna in Hairspray? Or when Michael J Fox was Marlene McFly? Should I keep going? Terry Jones as Brian's mother?

Gtfo of here with the faux-righteous act. Men have been playing female roles since the literal dawn of acting.

People should stop getting fake mad at the actual dumbest shite.

Cinderella adaptations are a dime a dozen. There are all kinds of modern takes of it, this isn’t really anything to care about.

I doubt this is the first gender swap of this story. Speaking of which, time to listen to an oldie

I'm just a 38 year old man and can't imagine caring that much about a live action Cinderella.

When did James Corden become so famous and get involved in almost everything?

I just don’t get the appeal of that dude. I have seen maybe one or two things of his that were okay, but he’s very meh overall for me. Yet he hosts a late night show, acts in pretty big movies, does lots of voice work, and now apparently develops movies.

I'm more offended that there's another live-action Disney movie being made. I guess we really are just going to run the whole gauntlet.

I like the Disney live-action movies, but Cinderella was made like 3 years ago by Disney and actually followed the original story.

You think they're woke now? Just wait until the changes are made to a new Pocahontas.

In the next Disney blockbuster, Pocahontas is going to lecture Mulan on her asian privilege and white adjacency.

Cinderella is not an Original Disney idea, it existed well before Disney’s two versions of it.

This version isn't going to be a Disney product is it? If so, it makes absolutely no sense when Disney released a live-action of Cinderella in 2015. Why another version so soon? They also produced a live-action TV version with a multi-cultural cast back in 1997.

Billy Porter was so tired he had to take his own version of Uber to the Met Gala this spring.
