I hope they work Jonathan Banks into it, perhaps as the villain. He was Victor Maitlin's henchman/ right hand man in the original.

Wasn't he killed in the first one?

This is going to suck. Why try to recreate Eddie Murphy at his peak? That isn't possible.

His current Christmas movie isn't inspiring much confidence.

This could go either way.

It's netflix. Just bring him back as the twin brother.

Now if they give it to Bogamill’s daughter Jan….that would be something.
She could get it!

From the original cast...I was wondering who is still alive:

Eddie Murphy (Axel Foley) - Alive
Judge Reinhold (Rosewood) - Alive
John Ashton (Taggart) - Alive
Lisa Eilbacher (Jenny) - Alive
Ronny Cox (Bogomil) - Alive (85 freaking years old)
Jonathan Banks (Zack) - Alive
Stephen Elliott (Chief Hubbard) - Died in 2005 at 86
Gilbert Hill (Inspector Todd) - Died 2016
Art Kimbro (Foster) - Alive
Joel Bailey (McCabe) - Alive
Bronson Pinchot (Serge) - Alive
Paul Reiser (Jeffrey) - Alive
Michael Champion (Casey) - Died 2021

So...out of the main cast members from 1984, only 3 have passed away.

I can't die without seeing Axel pull off another banana in the tailpipe stunt.

He was one of the best parts, hard to do this movie without him at least a little bit.

He was also a real life Detroit cop, and there are definitely some rumors swirling about his involvement in corruption and politics.
