Solid list, but D is the winner.

The remainder, in order: A, B, C

Week-to-week, episode-to-episode, WKRP just stands out from history for that era for quality sitcoms. Hard not to give the nod to Turkeys Away on the quality of the show alone.

And that was like the heavyweight boxing division during the 60s and 70s - there was so much competition for sitcoms.

You had these shows on against All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Sanford, Happy Days, M*A*S*H, Three's Company, Good Times, etc.

Turkeys Away, final answer

That episode of Three's Company where someone overhears just a part of a phone conversation and entirely gets the wrong idea of what was said. Hilarity ensues.

As someone who has spent most of the last 45 years of his life in broadcast media, the answer is and always will be D.
