Best One Season Shows

It can be a show that was intentionally only one season, or was likely to be more but got cancelled.
Obviously at or near the top is Firefly.
Funny story - I saw Serenity before I saw Firefly. The movie is definitely good enough as a stand alone movie, but I remember not thinking much when Shepard Book died because you barely see him in the movie. Then, watching the series, I could feel myself get pissed every time I was reminded about him dying in the movie. The times we're reminded of his mysterious past, it just got me even more angry.

It still blows me away how many famous actors are in Freaks in Geeks, Busy Phillips isn't even in that picture

That picture makes me feel so damn old.

American Gothic
This show was way ahead of its time. Unfortunately CBS had no idea how to handle a complex horror series back in 1995, so they mangled this thing up big time. They even forced the developers to release episodes out of order. What a travesty, because this would still be talked about today if allowed to run its course and had the backing of the network.

Since every season is completely new actors/characters/setting, I think True Detective season 1 should qualify and be at the top of the list.

I saw a thing recently where people were complaining about it not being available for streaming. It's because today they couldn't afford to include all of the original music if they did and they didn't want it to go on a service without the music. So you can only buy it via DVD.

Heroes only had one season.

it was 3 seasons but hogans heros had the ability to run 10-12 seasons easy if only bob crane didnt get murdered for fricking around with everyones wives in hollywood
even at just 3 seasons the reruns of it are still a huge hit that never gets old

I thought Traffic Light was really good, but no one has ever heard of it.
Also Mixology was decent

Thought Sharp Objects was pretty damn good. Season 2 is rumored to not be happening. I dont think it is needed.

Outsourced was a top-level sitcom for me. I was really disappointed it didn’t get a second season.
