Last of the Mohicans is the goat but Willow is in my top 3 without a doubt and doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. If you mixed Indiana Jones/Lord of the Rings together, you’d come up with this masterpiece.

Mohicans, Rudy, Interstellar, Braveheart and Gladiator are my go to. Plus most of John Williams and Hans. Also throw in Transformers.

Dune 1 and 2 have been added to the list.

No one mentioning The Fountain is criminal.

Also, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network.

Trent Reznor is a force.

Remo Williams is criminally underrated.

Morricone's Untouchable's and The Mission.

JWilliam's theme from Amazing Stories.

Basil Poledouris - Conan

The Anvil of Krom
Riders of Doom
Wheel of Pain
Atlantean Sword

All awesome

Best instrumental movie theme?

Depends on what you mean by best. I think the Jaws Main Title probably had the biggest impact on the success and greatness of a movie. The music is the shark for much of the film.

As far as what I just like listening to when I’m on a long drive or something, I actually listen to the End Title from Jaws a good bit. I find it relaxing. I like American Beauty for the same reason. I like Compass and Guns and Stoic Theme from Shawshank too.

Some others I listen to here and there: Into Chicago from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is a good one. I like New York from The Devil’s Advocate. I like Fish and Train from The Karate Kid. Taxi Ride from K-PAX. Descent Into Mystery from Batman (1989). Desert Suite from T2. Neidammerung from Matrix Revolutions. Transearth Injection from Apollo 11.

And a lot more.
