I'm not a comic book guy at all, but why are they setting klark up to be some anti hero? Is this a special story arc or something?
I think they are trying to take the approach of, if some alien destroyed a major city fighting other aliens, then there would be some people that would probably be a little freaked out by that. And since Bruce is already somewhat paranoid, it's not a huge leap that he'd want to confront what he views is a massive threat to the world.

The old Superman was. Snyder's Superman is veering from this pretty far.
Let people die.
Ruined trucker's life.
His dad.
Smashed government equipment.
Etc....
It's one of my biggest gripes about the movie. I'm hoping he goes more to being a good guy in this movie.

Synder's Superman has just gotten started. I believe Batman will help his character arc in more ways than one.

Exactly. People just have no patience nowadays, let's wait and see how they handle his character arc.

I just don't think Zach Snyder understands why people love these characters. I think he's completely tone deaf to that.

He has a fricked up moral compass.
Ma and Pa Kent were trainwrecks in MoS and he made a slew of horrible decisions growing up.
Instead of growing to make the right decisions even when they're hard, they went a different route.
You can agree or not, but to say this iteration of Superman is a "do it buy the book good guy" is ignoring the facts in the DCU

We saw his character in MoS. You people that think Snyder is going to change Superman into a boyscout have lost your minds.

It's funny seeing your reactions to this film as compared to star wars. I guess by your logic Kylo Ren will be a bitch for the remainder of the trilogy.

Superman should have some warmth to him. The whole fricking point of him is that as an alien, he represents the best of humanity. As for Bruce Wayne, he feels off.

Isn't Snyder a pretty big comic book nerd himself? While I don't really care too much for him as a filmmaker, to say he doesn't understand why people love these characters is pretty dumb.

SPOILERS
1. Kylo Ren is a brand new introduced character to a new movie. He's young, untrained, and still growing as a character and a person. Superman is a long established character that already has a movie behind him explaining his personality and his past development.
2. Kylo Ren is very far from a bitch in that movie. There is only one person in the entire universe of the movie able to fight him and she was his cousin and, like him, a prodigy unlike any other in the universe. He had also just taken an explosive shotgun to the chest and murdered his own father. That might have given Rey a slight advantage. Outside of Rey, Kylo fricked up everything in his path, slaughtered people, stopped lasers mid air without effort, tortured people, etc....
And he has tons of character development left. The movie ended with him embarking on training with his Sith Master. You think the character of Superman has massive changes left? He doesn't have a mentor or a master and he isn't still in training.
They pretty clearly laid out in MoS the tone and personality of this Superman. We can debate his personality and whether or not we like it, but to say he is a happy go lucky boy scout after watching MoS is incredibly dumb. And to think Snyder is going to turn the character 180 into a straight moral compassed boy scout is not only not understanding how Snyder works, but it would probably be worse than just sticking with the character they created.
The new DC comics make Superman more volatile with more edge, I just prefer the old one and Snyder is going farther than the comics did.

He may read them. He may enjoy them. He may be a nerd. But none of that matters if he can't show us.

Affleck will be great as Batman. The marketing for this movie has been poor, but I'm excited for the actual movie..
The one thing I am excited about is Affleck as Batman. They seem to be skipping all the bullshite in Batman's Rouge Gallery and just assumes we know who they are. That is great. This allows us to get into some of his deeper enemies that Superman sure as shite will have nothing to do with. If they do a Batman Trilogy coming up, here is who I hope the villains are:
I: Red Hood
II: Hush
III: Hugo Strange
Those are perfect antagonists to where Batman will go out of his way to make sure the rest of the Justice League is not involved. And they seemed to be much too low stake in the past to be the main antagonists, but now they're perfect.

This. All of it.

Hugo Strange...eh...
They really could have done something nice with an Azrael arc

Hugo Strange could be just fantastic as a villain. Granted, I'd make him a bit of a decoy villain for the Joker at the end, but that goes without saying. Red Hood you clearly have to have the Joker involved, but I'd have Hush run on his own, with maybe using some minor villains like Riddler and Two Face at his bidding. The brilliance behind the universe they're setting up is you have all the regulars already in play and use this entirely to your advantage.
Seriously, how awesome would it be if they could get Benedict Cumberbatch to play Hush?

Damn, I hadn't thought about that one. That would be perfect casting. Unfortunately, he's already tied in with Marvel

I used to love the Clayface episodes of Batman TAS as a a kid. As well as the comics.
Since we have the justice League and people in Batman's world actually have super powers for the first time in forever, I'd love to see one of the Clay men, either father or son.

If it piece together all the trailers you can probably see 15-20 minutes of the movie.
Stop fricking putting these trailers out.
There better be some massive payoff in this movie. And a little teaser at the end for Bizarro or another villain is not a payoff.
However, the revel that Eisenberg is Luthor's dipshit son and Lex shows up midway through the movie, beats the shite out of him, and takes his role as super villain would be amazingly epic.
I'm still going to see the movie the day it comes out, but the marketing and trailers for this movie have been the worst I can remember for a long time.

Well said. Never seen advertising like this before. Getting to be absurd

They're gonna team up together in the end with Wonder Woman and fight doomsday. They basically ruined the movie in the previous trailer
