Just finished it.
Damn that was just simply amazing.
On one hand I'm pissed I never watched it sooner but on the the other I'm glad that I waited to be older so I could fully appreciate it.

It was definitely one of the few series I had real depression that it was over.. like what do I do with my life now

If you move on to The Pacific, which a lot of B.O.B. fans did, don't expect the same dynamic.
It's extremely well done and vey much worth the watch, though.

it gets depressing after Episode 7 honestly.
It really does.
I've watched it at least a dozen times and I get emotional at the same scenes/events every time.
I couldn't imagine having done all that with all those people, then just up and go back home to start a new life, likely never seeing any of them again.

This thread has made me pick up on watching it as well. Just started Ep 4

SPOILERS
The most badass part of episode 7 was when Winters was about to say frick it and go lead that attack on in until Strayer or whoever it was called him back. That was his boys getting shelled out there

One of the best scenes of the entire series.
That whole exchange with Col. Sink, Winters, and Spears was awesome.

Loved that scene, but it didn't exactly happen that way. Winters did want to go in and lead the men but he stopped himself, knowing it was not his place. But Speirs was picked simply because it was the first officer he saw.

Oh, and when Speirs was the GOAT
If I had to pick one scene to watch, that would be it.
Even the little things are awesome, like when speirs shows up and gives lipton the orders, then I think it's luz, that pats lipton on the back like frick yeah.

My favorite scenes with Speirs were towards the end when you saw how much he actually cared about the men, especially when Grant got shot.
The bits about him from Day of Days about shooting german soldiers, I don't believe, was ever confirmed, and Winters remarked a few times that he could have been arrested for war crimes, but a) he was a good soldier and leader, so the higher ups would turn a blind eye to a lot of stuff since getting a good officer was almost a rare commodity, and b) killing prisoners back then wasn't that rare, especially in high combat situations. They just didn't have the means and resources to keep a bunch of the enemy, so the easiest thing was to kill them and move on.

Wrong.
The best Speirs scene is when he walks in on that dude railing the German girl. Dude pops out of bed butt naked and salutes. Speirs doesn't even flinch and just walks around like there's nothing going on. Classic.

Glad you finally watched it. I knew you'd love it.
I have it ranked as my #2 all time miniseries (behind the original Planet Earth). It's just fantastic. And I need to do a rewatch soon...may try to do that over the holidays. It's been too long since I've seen it.
