Bachelor Party (1984) sucks

Tom Hanks tried his best to redeem this shitpile but even he couldn't do it.
Tawny Kitaen couldn't redeem it.
About a dozen pairs of tits couldn't redeem it.
The writing was horrible, not a single funny joke in the entire thing. The supporting cast was one of the worst in the history of comedy movies.
This motherfricker right here ruined every scene he was in. I guess he thought he was primed to be the next Belushi but he was completely devoid of personality or charisma, just a fricking disgusting oaf.
What a complete waste of an hour and a half. Revenge of the Nerds, Porkys, etc are 1000x the movie this was.

It is so weird to see Tom Hanks now, and then be reminded of some of the movies he made in the 80s.
Not that they were completely raunchy or anything, but still a big departure from his current career.

Makes me wonder if the Apatows and Todd Phillipses of the world ever approached him to do a Bachelor Party 2020 type of movie.
Could've at least had Hanks and Zmed do a cameo in one of the Hangover movies.

Been rewatching a lot of them lately and most of them hold up.
Joe vs the Volcano - Amazing, probably one of my favorite 80s movies
Splash - Great
Turner and Hooch - Great
Haven't rewatched Dragnet yet, but I imagine it'll be mediocre. Loved it as a kid.
This was next-level bad. I imagine all the people fondly reminiscing in this thread haven't watched Bachelor Party in 20-30 years.

This is a bad take.
The film was very good for its day. Unfortunately, unlike other comedy "giants" of that era (Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Vacation, etc.) is just aged pretty bad and looked/felt dated by 1990 or so.
Looking at it backward is always going to skew your perception of a movie like this.
Let me put it this way - it's a shite ton better than Splash. There. I said it. (ETA: Better than Turner and Hooch, too, IMHO.)
