Exactly....there's a lot of posters here that are convinced IW is going to break that record

run time could hurt your multiple viewers

It’s going to put up stupid good numbers opening weekend WW and domestic.
After that it will depend on how rewatchable it is and the length might turn a lot of casuals off from a repeat viewing. Or it might not.
If it doesn’t get a lot of repeat viewings I could see $550-600million. If it does get some repeat viewings then I can see $700mil being realistic

And I can see Disney pressuring the Russo’s to trim the time of A4 for that exact reason

It'll be massive. I'm predicting 1.8-1.9 billion WW. It's just not going to break TFA domestic total, or Avatars WW total.
Posted on 4/26/18 at 10:28 am to RLDSC FAN
Exactly. TFA’s domestic fun was insane and will probably never be broken. I remember going to watch for like the third time about a month and a half after it was out and the theater was still packed. Crazy

I'm just shocked someone watched that movie 3 times.

Goddamn YouTube trying to spoil the movie for me yall be careful

Rotten Tomatoes for that matter. They haven’t given really a frick about the spoilers. Stuckmann didn’t say shite with spoilers, but everyone else did. I’ll be shocked if I’m not right about the ending simply due to what critics said.

Damn shame
Luckily I’ve just looked at the scores and not the reviews themselves. I’ll stay off this board later though once y’all get back from viewing, in case someone is feeling frosty

From Deadline
Incredible number, but I'm starting to doubt if it breaks the OW record. It's gonna be close.
quote:
summer begins early in late April. We have very early industry estimates showing Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity Warat $45M for Thursday night, and west coast showtimes have yet to kick in. Should that projection maintain into the night, it would easily be the best Marvel preview ever, stepping over Avengers: Age of Ultron ($27.6M) and the second best ever tying with Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($45M) and filing behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens first night ($57M).
These forecasts do not come from Disney, rather Deadline sources, so if you see another publication reporting this number — they got it from us. We could see higher figures, and we could see lower by AM — some think it could go as low as $36M-$38M, and that’s still a Marvel preview night record. Nonetheless, Infinity War is another hit for the Teflon Marvel.

I’m not gonna spoil anything here, but word of mouth is going to be VERY good for this movie. In my completely full theater you could’ve heard a pin drop multiple times, it was that good and gripping, didn’t even notice the long runtime, pacing was great too

The second weekend will tell us a lot about the legs.
Posted on 4/26/18 at 11:38 pm to RLDSC FAN
This will have legs, I think. People are going to rewatch it. There are lots of things going on.
Posted on 4/26/18 at 11:45 pm to Scoob
I'm thinking 250 OW, 2.7 multiplier = 675 domestic. OS will be massive, 1.1-1.2 billion.
Posted on 4/26/18 at 11:46 pm to RLDSC FAN
You really see $250mil? I thought you said that was a pipe dream
Posted on 4/26/18 at 11:50 pm to WicKed WayZ
It'll come close to that, if the thurs previews hit 45+. Now, if it comes in at the lower end (36mil) then TFA record is safe.
I said breaking TFA domestic total is a pipe dream. OW was always going to be close.
