I could definitely go for more Spaghetti Western.

Did you watch any of the Dirty Black Bag on AMC? It was billed as being sort of Spaghetti Western-influenced, but I only caught one episode.

Bad movie

Multiverse of Madness - very, very meh

Doctor strange isn't that popular

Thor - dogshit

It was funny enough at times but not something I would call a good movie for sure. And it did well.

Ant-man - dogshit and underperformed bigly

Ant Man isn't that popular and a big part of the marketing was a villain they introduced in a Disney+ series they assumed everyone watched. Theres too much content and I shouldn't have to watch hours and hours of some show I may not have interest in to get invested about a character or plot point.

Black panther - very, very meh and underperformed relative to first one

The first one was overrated AF but it was a cultural event for a lot of people

quote:

Shazam fury of the woke - dogshit and headed for a colossal bomb

Bad movie, not really a popular character

You make good movies with characters people care about and the fans will come back

Bigger problem is the amount of CGI. Cartoonish.

The quality of the Marvel movies since Endgame just hasn't been good.

This.
It didn’t help that RDJ and Evans departed the MCU either.

The only good movie post-Endgame was No Way Home and that was at least partially a Sony film. Everything else since tops out at “meh”.

The TV shows have had some solid starts or solid endings but never seem capable of making a good product the whole way through. Some were bad almost the entire run.

Marvel needs to abandon real world politics in their movies and also drop the jokes, slow down the schedule to help with VFX and writing, and have some more dark/serious offerings.

The problem is a good movie has to have more than just CGI and Action. Studios have gotten lazy and think a lot of action makes up for bad character development. You have to give a crap about the characters and their stories.

The first three MCU movies were actually more character driven. Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor.

I absolutely loved Thor's character arc in the first film. It's hard to believe that there was a time where he didn't act like a cartoon character.

Other than the writing becoming cut and paste, they have already cycled through all of the most popular characters. X-Men is probably the only other title they could build a franchise from but it would have to be done just right….and I don’t think they have it in them.

I hope so, but studios will have no idea what else to produce

Which is amazing, because there is a bottomless well of source material being published every year

If they stop devoting all their energy to Black Adam and Antman they may find people develop the attention spans for substantive, well-made movies again.

That's exactly the problem, they are trying to put the left shoe on the right foot and trying to make unpopular characters popular and chasing demographics that only ever existed in twitter comments.

I'll go ahead and bet Captain America will not do well despite trying to fit the mutants in, and they'll scream racism, ignoring that people are just really sick of the movies in general, Falcon was never really popular, and they forgot the only aspect that could have made him and bucky special and somewhat marketable, and from the synopsis he's actually working against american interests like he's suddenly captain globalism or something.
