I got lambasted on this board for saying the apparently latest in the line of "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" was "relegated to Apple+." I still don't even know what that new series is called.

Their children’s content is severely lacking so I can understand why you can’t find anything to watch.

You get lambasted because you're an idiot and bring zero value to MTV.

I bundle everything on Apple:

It gives you Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple News (which is a great collection to hundreds of news/science/history articles and magazines/newspapers all in one), and 2 TB of iCloud.

Well worth the cost imo.

Nobody watches their shows, but Apple+ is easily the most consistent in terms of quality. Especially the sci-fi genre.

Apple+ is too smart for the average stupid American who just watches reality crap.

I was shocked by the quality of shows on Apple TV when I had it briefly. Severance might be the single best show on TV, and there is some quality stuff on there.

They have a few major problems though:

The interface makes it EXTREMELY difficult to even find the shows

and

Quantity

People now use streaming for a lot of things, including just streaming random content, background noise, reality TV, etc.

Apple TV focused on Quality over Quantity and lost because they don't understand America

I wonder how much longer Apple and Amazon will continue to burn gobs of money on streaming. Disney can at least leverage their streaming spending toward getting people to movies, theme parks, cruises (apparently, they had all kinds of ads for Inside Out 2 leading up to the movie)

You realize that Amazon leverages it towards, well, Amazon, right?

Not sure if there's anywhere near a direct benefit for Apple

I have Apple+ and share the sentiment of most on here- not much quantity but the quality of the programming is usually top notch.

The production value of their content is amazing. Just so well done. Their original programming can be hit or miss, but Severance S2 is coming out soon. The Morning Show was very good, especially the first 2 seasons. The first season of Ted Lasso was great, but the following seasons kinda sucked.

They will never be as big as Netflix, but I would think a TV/Movie arm is about the 5th most important thing going on at Apple.

I tell people about these great Apple shows and usually they haven’t heard of them. It’s sad because they have really good shows. Hate to hear they are cutting back, but I understand.

I don’t know current promos, but in the past I doubt getting free Apple+ when spending a lot of money on an iPhone or a computer sealed many sales over a competitor. They were buying them anyway. They do push their products in the shows and movies, but I am not sure how well they do this or how much they benefit from it.

For awhile people getting free time were not activating or using it. Might not have even known about it.

That’s kind of a legit point. God knows I saw a slew of Prime Day ads last week.

I tried it out with a 7 day free preview because the Braves were playing on a Friday night on Apple+

After the game I poked around the platform and thought it was awful so I canceled the subscription before I forgot about it and they charge me

So you watched none of their shows and just wrote it off as awful? Got it.

Hell even if you weren't basing it on shows, it definitely has the best interface of any of the streaming services. Clean look, easy to navigate, you can rent movies on it, etc.

Apple+ isn't worth purchasing. I'll watch their shows whenever they get purchased by another streaming service after Apple+ goes under.

I knew the poster second in command to SoutheasternKige who leads the way in "I have not watched any of this stuff but it is awful because, you know, umm, it is" was going to show up.

You don't know if it's worth purchasing because you haven't watched any of the shows. Maybe one of these days you'll realize how stupid you sound when you say this or you'll look at the downvotes and that'll help.

It would be impossible for you to make a point like Freaux who actually gave a legit reason for not having it.
