No Robert Stack, but the same creepy music I remember from my childhood
Just finished episode 1 and
*spoilers*
That “best friend” douche Porter definitely killed that guy or at least knows who did

I watched the first two episodes tonight and I enjoyed it.
*spoilers*
Porter definitely killed Rey in episode one and Rob definitely killed Patrice in episode two. Rob sleeping with the box with Patrice’s remains inside is about the creepiest thing I’ve ever heard.

***spoilers***
Episode 1
- dude suffered a psychotic episode and committed suicide. He would have had to hit that roof going head first or feet first to create such a small hole, which indicates he was almost certainly alive and made the conscious decision to jump. Still possible the rich friend chucked him out of a helicopter I guess. I wonder why the Claudia character (house guest) wasn’t a suspect, I thought she may have been in on it.
Episode 2
- husband killed her or had her killed, this episode was a bore compared to first and third
Episode 3
- no clue, but this is a real fricked up situation. I’m leaning towards suicide, but they make a compelling case that dude skipped town.
All in all, this is the most enjoyable thing I’ve seen on Netflix in months. Music and stories are excellent. Not having a host is a good choice. Although I do kinda miss the multiple stories per aspect angle.

Please put spoilers in the subject line. Definitely read something I didn't want to

So glad they rebooted this show, re-runs of the original series in the late 90s was one of my favorite things to watch as a kid. The wife and I watched the first 2 episodes last night, and thought they were really well done. Would be awesome if they end up adding updates at the end of episodes, should people come forward with evidence or things get solved like they used to do.

Now we just need them to bring back Rescue 911. Greatest intro theme music ever

the show desperately needs a narrator.

Need more of the iconic creepy music like the original and they need a host... someone older to bring back just a smidgen of the Robert Slack magic

I wonder if they still have the room full of workers sitting by telephones waiting for viewers to call in with that one major tip that helps solve the mystery.
Nothing can beat Robert Stack however.

Spoiler:
1st episode was interesting. How did he fall 40 feet from the edge of the building? Why did his phone and glasses not have a scratch.? No one saw him in the hotel. It seems if they did, someone would talk. Very odd.

Yeah, I always thought it had a Michael Myers/Halloween-ish vibe to it. Love it.
Robert Stack is missed. I don't think another narrator would have measured up. Dennis Farrina tried on a previous reboot and failed.
SPOILERS:
It is all so strange. No hotel/street camera footage. No eye witnesses inside or out. Complex roof/ledge access for both victim or assailant(s). Undisturbed phone/glasses, but money clip missing. Long-time friend immediately lawyers up/gags co-workers. Bizzare hidden note taped behind appliance. The only convincing suicide clue is the broken shins imply conscious feet-first fall/jump that makes the small hole. Maybe he was in a secret scandalous Aaron Hernandez-ish relationship with the friend who he moved across the country for and couldn't face his wife or Puerto Rican family?

this is incredibly obvious and i did enjoy the show, but jesus christ the whole "unsolved" part is frustrating. yes im an idiot, i understand.

my girlfriend has the same frustration, we watched one episode and she said, "where's the update part? they're just gonna leave us hanging?" because we've watching reruns from like 20-30 years ago.
She's real stupid

I think it’s very unlikely the guy had his wife killed. No evidence of affairs, no insurance policy, no pending divorce. He seems like a complete douchebag and a terrible stepdad- but I don’t think he’s a killer or an arranger of a hit.

I liked that they paid a hommage to Stack in the intro

The fricking UPDATE music used to startle me in a weird way.

Agreed, the music is good but they should've used exact same as original. How about Stacy Keach for narration
SPOILERS:
1st ep, I though the colleague was curious. It seemed as though when the wife called to ask where husband was, the lady went to a story right away. "Oh his phone rang and he exclaimed OH and then ran out the door". It seemed weird to me that she didn't just say "he's not here, he left earlier". And the friend obviously has knowledge, why lawyer up and shut down others form talking? What a shitbird. He had to go off from the ledge, right? Or, he was at some sort of Eyes Wide Shut party and he was getting away from folks
Ep 2 was shitty, so crazy when you have a situation where people saw someone but nothing comes of it. I think the stepdad sucks, but didn't have anything to do with it.

The lack of creepy music especially makes no sense given no host.

All of this.
Well, I don't think Porter killed Rey, but he almost certainly had something to do with it.
Dude had the funeral home lay out her skeleton so he could 'be with her' one last time. fricking weird.
