Never knew that. I always thought they just recast her because Gyllenhaal was the better actress. Katie Holmes is definitely prettier and I would have rather they kept her but she's not a very strong actress. I would have a hard time seeing her pull off the scene right before the building explodes.

No, but it doesn’t get enough credit as an elite superhero movie.
i will say this though, it’s a better Batman movie than the Dark Knight but not a better overall movie as the Joker elevated the Dark Knight in a major way

I always have thought that.

Both great.
Liam Neeson was excellent as was Michael Caine.

I have friends that think BB is better, and I can accept their reasoning for it; however, TDK is the greatest superhero movie of all time, and I think it's one of the best movies ever made on its own right. I've always said if you remove the names Batman and Joker and let this be generic characters in a serial killer thriller movie, then you'd have critics hailing it as a classic alongside Godfather and such. I think it's that great. It might be my favorite movie

I do. The flashbacks to Bruce's youth showing the impact his father had on him in just a few really small doses sets it apart for me.
That and the fact that Maggie Gyllenhaal looks like a foot.
ETA--Oh and Tom Wilkinson's reaction when Cillian Murphy asks him if he wants to see his mask. My favorite scene in the movie.

Holmes was dumb not to come back.

Absolutely. Always found the Joker in general and his schemes to be preposterous in DK. Not to say DK is not great. Funny how much better these two DC's are than what came after.

I think DK is the better film, but I enjoy BB more, if that makes sense.

I may be misremembering but I think Tom Cruise made her back out

Also BB and TDK are both amazing. While it certainly has its flaws and was the worst of the 3, I still enjoy TDKR as well.

Tom was probably mad she got to kiss Christian Bale.

Yes. It's what made everybody want to see the The Dark Knight... the day it came out. Good thing it delivered like Aliens and T2.
