They played a new trailer before another movie I saw last night and gave away a lot more footage that would make it very hard to believe anyone but Harnett is the killer. It was a long arse trailer I wish I hadn’t seen but I am amped for this one

A MNS movie without a major twist would be a twist.

I just noticed there's no reviews for this yet. That's not a good sign
Or maybe that's a sign that he doesn't want the true twist to be revealed.
They've done a good enough job promoting this movie that I will watch it when it comes out.

This has been everyone's guess, but the girl playing the daughter looks to be about 5foot and 90lbs. That would be less believable than The Happening
I said it better.

The chained up guy he’s watching on the screen is the actual killer. Hartnett’s daughter is a ghost (victim of the killer) and he’s hallucinating her as a manifestation of grief / pain.
Alternatively, Hartnett is the killer and everyone at the concert are ghosts. At the end, he walks out and Haley Joel Osment’s character from the Sixth Sense reveals all his ghost friends told him Hartnett is the butcher.
Anyway,, Lucky Number Slevin is a great movie.

Has any director in the history of film ever gotten more mileage out of his name and reputation alone?
I mean the 6th Sense was great and all but the dude has delivered turd after turd for 20 years now and they still keep giving him money to make movies and they still keep getting hyped up. It's crazy.

I don't know. I liked The Village.

Me too. 6th Sense, Unbreakable, The Village, and Split were all pretty good and worth the watch.

Almost every directors resume is hit or miss. Making good movies is hard, even for the best.
But to answer your question, despite his movies not always doing the best critically, his movies usually make money, so that’s why he “keeps getting chances”.
Even his avatar movie and after earth made good money at the box office. And he has a habit of turning 50-70 mil budgets into 300-400 mil

Saw the trailer for this yesterday when I went to see Twisters last night. I got pretty hyped. I really liked Hartnett in Oppenheimer and I'm glad he's getting good roles again. I generally enjoy MNS movies and this one looks interesting at least.
I actually liked Knock at the Cabin. The ending was pretty boring, but the scenes and the tension that built up through the whole movie was good.

I thought Old was pretty good.

At least he isn't remaking or reimagining Sixth Sense. I mean, its 20 years old, many people alive have no idea what this movie is. Might be time for a reboot since we hate all of his new, original stuff.

I'm pretty sure he puts in his own money for the budgets.

He sets his phone down in the bathroom to take a piss. The killer is also at the concert taking a piss, and he sets his phone down. They accidentally switch phones as they exit the bathroom. Hartnett discovers the horrors on the killer's phone.

Then he just tells the police?

Its an M. Night Shyamalan twist my dude.

His last movie actually didn’t have a twist. Knock at the Cabin. Maybe he plays this one straight up. Kinda doubt it though
I actually liked Old and The Visit. The Happening and the Split sequel were probably his 2 worst. Unpopular opinion: The Village is fricking great.
