Fake sports teams are another fun road to go down. I had an old PC football game when I was a kid that let you create leagues and basically edit everything about the squad. I created my own college division, complete with the SCLSU Mud Dogs, UL Cougars, Texas State Armadillos, Texas Colts, and some of the lesser known ones from those movies like West Mississippi and Central Kentucky State.
