since they started charging for commercial-free viewing.
I've completely stopped watching the few shows that appealed to me because I hate commercials that much.

I watched it less than any of the other streaming services because their interface is absolute dogshit.

Just terrible.

The interface is awful, but they also don't put out a ton of great content, and the backlog stuff they have doesn't seem to appeal to me.

I’ve seen like one 15-30 second commercial per episode I’ve watched so far. And I just binged 8 episodes of Mr and Mrs Smith the last few days. I’ll check out how they handle The Expanse soon, but it’s no where near as annoying as fricking Hulu ads. 6 minutes of commercials for every episode of Only Murders in the Building. If I didn’t get Hulu for free with phone plan, frick them assholes.

Yep. Amazon got put to the back of the bus w/that move. It was already an annoying service to use as it was and this was just the cherry on top.

I'm not even sure what the point of subscribing to Amazon is anymore since the free 2 day shipping that was supposed to be the major benefit of a sub may as well be dead for 99% of the stuff bought on there.

I'm only getting an ad or two before the show starts, haven't been interrupted mid show so not that big of a deal really.

I was barely watching it even before the ads started.

I'm seriously considering canceling once I'm done rewatching Northern Exposure.

I watch Amazon content just not via the Prime video app even though we have Prime. Definitely won't even think about using their app with the ads and now taking away Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Their crap decisions on interface and trying to squeeze out more $$ when they have been throwing it away like drunken sailors will just lead people to alternatives.

The Boys, Gen V, and Invincible are really the only things keeping me subscribed.

I've been rewatching Northern Exposure as well and I don't think the ad breaks are that bad. But then again, I'm used to watching obscure horror movies on Tubi and their ad breaks are terrrrible

Same. And it’s before the show starts. It doesn’t interrupt the program.

However, I do agree that they don’t really produce much, and I wouldn’t miss it if I didn’t have it.

I haven't even opened the app since the price increase. I'm looking into cancelling prime altogether

I quit paying for Amazon. For a company with so much money, they put out crap content.

Currently doing a Bosch rewatch and am on S4. During the first few episodes of the season they had a few 20/30 second ads randomly throughout the episode. And since it was added to the episode, they didn't properly sync it with natural breaks and was extremely frustrating. Since then, it appears they "fixed it" by only having 1 30/45 second ad spot at the beginning of the show.

No but I wouldn't blame anyone who does. IMO Amazon is probably better than everyone else at having movies at a given point. Including Netflix and HBO Max.

The quality of original content is a full step below Apple TV+/Netflix/Max/etc. though.

Agreed that the apps are pretty miserable to use.

What do you have against starting your queue search all over again each time you view a trailer?

My continue watching is littered with movies that were turned off when the credits started.

It’s got some good stuff.

The Boys
Gen V
Invincible
Vox Machina
Reacher S1
Mr. & Mrs Smith.

But when those aren’t fresh and new, it becomes slim pickings.

I wish they’d go heavy after an original SciFi show. Not an adaptation. Straight up original. Precious few of them.

Their Roku interface looks like it was built by a preschooler. It wears me out just trying to scroll through to get to what I wanted to watch.
