We can talk about the “plot hole” where Strange’s ability to see millions of possible futures and their associated extended outcomes but get blind sided by Thanos en route to a Reuben sandwich makes him a shitty guardian instead.

I caught Civil War on TNT last night and I'm wondering if the key (or one of the keys) to defeating Thanos is going back to the events before Civil War to prevent Cap and Tony falling out. I think Scott will get rescued from the quantum realm in the future and realize he must go back in time to save the universe, and will start with going back to before Civil War to prevent the Avengers from breaking up.

Ehhh

Maybe.

I don’t think so though.

The one thing I like about this angle: it opens the narrative door for them to have multiple universes if Kevin wants to go that route.

I still think Michelle Pfiefer mentioning time vortexes in the quantum realm is a big part in all of this. I think Scott says frick it and jumps in one or gets caught in one by accident.

I do too.

But I think it’s a 10-15 year forward and maybe how he gets out.

Could explain why Captain Marvel takes place in the 90s but we don't see her in any or the MCU movies

Please forgive my ignorance:

1. How in the hell did Marvel keep all these timelines & tangents "straight" when they were authoring the comics?!??! Was there some massive art studio with a huge wall of timelines & yarn connecting characters to each other + plot lines?!?!?!

2. Is there a documentary or biography style series or movie on Marvel/Stan Lee/et al to show interested fans how it all was created, produced, & morphed from the comics to the movies?

Answer to number one is easy: they didn’t.

Massive amounts of inconsistencies and tweaks in them, with powers and limits down played or overstated accounting to whatvtge writer wanted to do right then.

Just watched and really enjoyed it. Fun movie with great action and lots of laughs. Cast really has great chemistry together. Scott, Hope, Hank dynamic is great. The ExCon crew is great with Luis continually stealing the show.

The only plot hole they could’ve addressed better is why didn’t Scott just use the old suit after telling Hank that it still existed. I know they used the tech from the suit to find the lab but to my knowledge they didn’t break it finding it. You would think Scott would use the proper operating suit instead of the malfunctioning prototype. I think that could’ve been taken care of by them breaking the piece upon finding the lab. Really minor I know and I thought Scott’s suit malfunctions were funny scenes but I think it could’ve been better handled as to why he was still using the new suit at the end.

As far as the tie in to IW, i really thought it was well done and pretty clearly Scott and the Quantum realm will tie in some kind of way to defeat Thanos. Obviously sad that they all dusted after just reuniting but I actually thought it was less sad then let’s say if just Hank and Janet dusted and not Hope.

My only complaint was Stan Lee's cameo. They were funny in the beginning but now feel forced and distract from the story.

And in a comedic adventure, the lack of humor in Stan's walk-on makes it extra painful to watch.

Holy exposition and contrived coincidences, Batman.

This movie was a whole lot of...meh.
