More than anything, I wanted the IW tie-in.
I was curious if the trailers were a fake out (which Marvel is pretty good at) and only covered the first half of the film.
Second half was starting to move pieces post Snap.
Or even just the Pym survivors figuring out the aftermath.

Discussion among my group was why the Hell were they doing this experiment with all that was going down? By then, they would have known that New York had been attacked and some shite had gone down in Scotland. Doubtful they would have heard about Wakanda.
Still, their activities were odd considering.

BTW, the movie was great. The truth serum was hilarious.

What makes it worse they could have done the exact same thing if they swapped out some dialogue about the energy being useful to help them handle “whatever the hell is going on.”

Still not as bad as the mental gymnastics required for the "8 years later" portion of Spider-Man Homecoming to line up properly.

It's possible that the events of the movie happened a week or so before Thanos showed up and the post credits scene was a week later.

Ghost and Laurence Fishburne fricking sucked.
Other than that pretty solid movie

I think he was speaking of the post credits sequence, not the film events.

They are in San Francisco. They are also wanted by the FBI. Scott isn't supposed to hang out with Cap for 3 more years ad part of his probation. Hank hates stark. They haven't helped anyone ever before like the first avengers, Ultron, or any other movie.

I am just talking about the news reports, not any calls from Avengers.

So it’s simultaneously daylight in Africa, New York, and San Francisco
According to wikipedia, Wakanda is in east Africa, so that is about 6 or 7 hours ahead of the eastern time zone. Let's just say the mid-credit scene happens at 7AM in San Francisco. In New York, it would be 10AM and in Wakanda, it would be 4 or 5PM. So, yes it would be daylight in all three areas.
Good lord, I feel like a huge nerd now.

They had the perfect opportunity to activate Black Goliath and have Fishburne put on the suit at the end to distract the FBI instead of inflating the suit like a balloon.

And Hank and [Hope] were pretty adamant (or Adam Ant) about not getting involved in superheroics outside of their purview. A good chunk of this storyline was their being pissed at Scott for fighting alongside Cap in Germany.

I assume you mean Hank and Hope...as Janet was trapped in the Quantum Realm for 30 years.

I assumed she'd be bitchy like her daughter.

Well, if you really think about it, the public probably doesn't know much of what happened.
Yeah, there was the spaceship in New York, but then it left. After that, there was no real major battle except for Wakanda which I'm assuming no one still really knows what actually took place there.

BTW, the theaters were pretty empty last night. I'm sure it'll end up doing fine but it might get a slow start out of the gate. It outperformed the lower tier Marvel debuts nationally.

Yeah my theater was pretty empty.

Same.
Weeknight or no, “lower tier” movie or not, I still imagined a 9 PM showing opening night of the first post IW Marvel movie to have more than 30 people in it.

I saw it last night. Came away thinking it was funny and just alright but After thinking about it over night, I found it a bit boring. The villain sucked and they made Scott pretty stupid in this one. He has a masters in mechanical engineering but kept saying he didn’t know what quantum meant or came off as just plain dopey. I know they tried to play up the humor but Jesus Christ, the character isn’t a bumbling idiot.
