I guess I don’t understand this enough. I thought she was going to live when she sat up out of that body bag and starting reaching at her feet. How did she go from that point to brain dead? I’m just ignorant here.

I'm not an expert but I'm guessing the smoke inhalation knocked her out. She briefly came to and then the smoke damage to her lungs eventually killed her.

use your brain. she was trapped inside a burning car with toxic fumes for close to an hour.
it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know she was dead even if she had a spasm on the gurney from smoke-inhalation or the burns she suffered that would slowly kill her over a few days.
i can't believe all the idiots on here who thought she was going to be ok.

I'm not reading the post because just the title alone makes me tear up. We had to take my mom off life support when she passed and walking away from her was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. It's been less than a year but I cry every day about it and have weekly nightmares. I hate it for her family.

One article I read said the cause of death is severe anoxic brain injury. i.e., her brain was deprived of oxygen from smoke exposure long enough for massive amounts of brain cells to die

It could be less so direct suffocation and more so lung damage from the toxic fumes that then lead to suffocation.
How long was she trapped in the car after the smoke started?

Six Days, Seven Nights is a ridiculous movie that I'll admit to enjoying
David Schwimmer is terrible in it.

Then her lungs were probably corroded by the time she was rescued. Technically speaking, her air supply in the vehicle could have had the requisite supply of oxygen to breath, but if there were corrosive, organic compounds in the smoke she was breathing, the air sacs in her lungs would probably have literally melted at some point.

I will never understand these types of people. Why not gtfo of that lifestyle when your star fades and find a down to earth normal person to spend your life with. Yes it may seem boring at times but at least you can travel and go on adventures without trying to be in the ever changing Hollywood scene.
Because fame, notoriety, money, and the power of their status are a drug.
Asking someone to give that up is like telling a heroin addict to just stop doing heroin. It doesn't work, it's groomed into their brain and eventually it destroys them. They're always looking for the next fix, the next grift, the next trend to get in front of.

Their existence is defined by how other people view them.
