Naomi Watts as Tali was great news IMO. Hardy as Bane was good news IMO. Hathaway as a true Catwoman villain is a terrible idea IMO. I wouldn't care if they used her as a love interest/friend, and she never actually comes to fruition as Catwoman. You just sit through the movie knowing who she eventually would be. But Batman needs a good friend to be honest with him: "dude I know you and Rachel were tight and I never said anything cause y'all were childhood friends and all... But this new chick is ugly. You can do a lot better. Take that Talia chick for instance."

You're right. But that shouldn't be a defense of something either.

I was one of the few who said from the very beginning that Ledger was a great choice and he fit exactly what Nolan seemed to want. Guess what? I was right (as were others, I wasn't the ONLY one).

And if those people who were perplexed by the Ledger choice were wrong? So what. They probably didn't have a grasp for what Nolan set up with Begins, or what a good actor is. Ledger was the perfect choice.

So some people can be right and some people can be wrong, it's the way of the world. You can mark my words now, if Selina Kyle is more than a side character/love interest then:

1) It will be very obvious when the movie comes out that we have a Venom situation on our hands
2) She will bring the movie down in quality, and so will any narrative elements having to with her.
3) She won't make sense in Nolan's Gotham, something he has meticulously crafted
4) It won't be a good close to the series if he is signing off.

I mean it was knee-jerk, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was forced on him.

And I'll go on record that I have been the loudest anti-Depp-Riddler person here, and I would have favored that over Catwoman any day of the week. Either way, this movie became loads more "appealing" to different people.

Same here. When they announced Ledger as the Joker I kept thinking, "But they already did the Joker? And why the hell did they get Ledger?"

I'm not too psyched about Catwoman, but Nolan has earned the right for us to give him a chance. It's definitely a challenge.

As far as Bane goes. I think that'll be awesome. Yes, the image of Bane is still burned in our heads from Batman & Robin, but I think Nolan can do some cool stuff with this character.

P.S. Isn't Bane the guy who breaks Batman's back? So here's the movie: Bane fights Batman. Breaks his back. Catwoman takes over.

Knee jerk reaction is....this is a miscasting. But, as others have mentioned, most people said that about Heath as Joker. I'm giving Nolan the benefit of the doubt.

Anne Hathway is this generation's Julia Roberts. Can you imagine Julia as Catwoman in Batman Returns? Right, didn't think so.
