I was concerned that this season would not match up to season 1. That it would become commercialized and subverted, or simply that it wouldn't hit the same level of focus. We've seen that happen a lot.
I'm glad to say my concerns were for naught. This show is fricking incredible

I have a lot to process with those 3. Wow.

I feel this season is rushed but slow at the same time. Every 3 episodes, we j
ump a year… Syril turns…somewhat but we don’t see it, it’s offscreen in the lapse, all for a moment of hesitation with Cassian in the crosshairs and that’s it.
I’m not saying they need to draw this out for another three seasons, but it’s slow burn - time jump - slow burn - time jump.
I feel like they got lost after the first 3 episodes.
I do like releasing arcs all at once - and it’s still great as far as Star Wars goes. The writing just seems all over the place in comparison to season 1.

Also, the actress who plays Deedra is incredible. 10/10

I do have to laugh at the natural bent a lot of Star Wars fans have, because frankly, we've been conditioned this way, because a big theory when we first saw the clip of Dedra after the massacre was that she was getting force choked.
But her reaction...I almost felt for her, but she's still a monster. Amazing acting.

And isn't "who are you" the worst thing Syril could have heard in that moment?
Posted on 5/6/25 at 11:41 pm to sicboy
That was a phenomenal moment. Even though I hated to see him go. All that time. All that built up anger. He found his white whale. And to his credit, beat the fricking brakes off him. All to just be some insignificant part of this drama taking place around him.
That’s how a personality type like Syril should react. Confusion and bewilderment that he isn’t the hero of the story. I hoped he would have a hero’s death. But the death he got fit the story so much better.

The thing this show does better than any Star Wars show, maybe any Star Wars property ever, hell maybe as well as any sort of tv show or movie ever, is humanize everyone. It’s an incredibly interesting juxtaposition that Cassian told Syril the exact same thing that Gorst told Bix last week

So what does everyone think of one of Lonnie's agents being sent to arrest Mon? We didn't see him at all in this arc. Did he turn or was she operating outside of his knowledge?
Posted on 5/7/25 at 7:35 am to sicboy
I didn’t think that had anything to do with Lonnie. I was a little confused about that though. If the ISB had infiltrated Bail Organa’s inner circle, wouldn’t Organa now be in danger? It didn’t seem like he was though since he said he was staying on coruscant for the time being.

Plus he very intently yielded time on the floor for Mon to make her speech. I can't imagine he's going to be able to stay there long. The fallout and retribution from all of that is going to be fierce.

quote:As meticulous and calculating as this show depicts the Empire, I'm pretty certain the ISB knows, but can't prove anything. And that probably puts Alderaan on a list. I don't think Tarkin can blow up just any planet or system, but the Organa situation made Alderaan an option. If they had caught Mothma instead, Chandrila likely would have been the first target.

Man, those 3 episodes were incredible. I can't wait for next week. This week almost felt like a finale of sorts. New week is going to be amazing. More K2SO please

Do they even have to? They orchestrated Ghorman how they wanted it to go. Had the media on site spewing their narrative when the evidence to the contrary was right in front of them. Syril said in episode 4, the ISB just does what it wants. Because the Empire does what it wants.

Was that the last time we see Bix? I'm really torn on this because she says "when we've won we can have that life", but obviously Cassian doesn't see the end of the war. So she's either off doing whatever and they never see each other again, or she does come back to the rebellion and ends up being killed.
Not sure which one I want, because Bix is such a great character. I'd hate to think that's it for her in this show.

well Disney had to do Disney things to check some of their stupid boxes.
These 3 episodes were fantastic. Cannot wait for the final 3.
man i'm disappointed that wasn't a force choke that was in the trailer. Was hoping to see just a glimpse of Vader.

Kudos to Andor, great post! Other shows like The Wire have done this successfully, but its almost impossible to do with an existing IP where everyone already knows the story and without using some mostly unexplained outside magical/mythical plot device like the force to drive plot and character development instead of just good storytelling and character development.

They've released one of these videos for each arc. Check them all out.

Yeah we gotta remember the timeline here. These 3 episodes were roughly 1 year before the Emperor dissolves the entire Imperial Senate completely. They are just about done with 'playing the part' like anyone else's voice matters at all.
