Google Verified,

quote:

Scar's real name is Taka, which is Swahili for "dirt", "trash", or "want".

Well no wonder he was such an arse, obviously had mentally cruel, and I think we can infer, physically abusive parents. Cant be held responsible for his own actions in a case like that.

A very appropriate name strangely, all three of them.

You are forgetting the basis of Scar becoming King.

He was Mufasa's brother.

Maybe they gave Mufasa the best carcasses for Christmas (or would it be Kawanza?) when they were growing up.

Why strangely?

You think they just picked a word out of the English/Swahili dictionary at random?

Its more the fact that want and dirt have the same meaning that I think makes it very appropriate.

Personally I think Scar got pretty fricked. I mean how the frick was he to blame for a huge drought? Mufasa would have been in deep shite too.

I've often thought about writing an article for Cracked about TLK, and this is one of the points I would address. No way could Scar make the rivers dry up and the vegetation stop growing, not to mention the fricking sun not shining. I'd love to know what Simba did after defeating Scar that magically made everything turn back into paradise.

Furthermore, if the sun wasn't shining, that most likely means overcast/rain, yet there was no water anywhere really.

Complete bullshite.

Also, Scar's name is Scar. It's not Taka. Apparently that is from a series of books released after the movie. His only name in the movie is Scar.

The Lion King was a depiction of the reigns of John I and Richard I.

Scar's original name meant "want"

Scar had a want for the kingdom. Les Miles approves.
