Peacock dropped a first look at its upcoming archaeological comedy “Dig” ahead of its November debut.
In “Dig,” which reunites Amy Poehler with “Parks and Rec” creator Mike Schur, Poehler stars as Elise, a member of a dedicated group of archaeologists and less-dedicated college students who spend their summer working at a dig site in Greece.
Their discovery of a rare artifact sends them on the adventure of a lifetime,” the official logline reads. All 10 episodes of “Dig” will debut Monday, Nov. 23, on Peacock.
In addition to Poehler, series regulars for “Dig” include Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas and Fina Strazza, with Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing and Bonita Friedericy also on the lineup as guest cast.

I’m willing to give it a shot, but at present I don’t subscribe to Peacock. Are there any other shows on it worth the subscription or am I just going to get a single month to binge this?

Amy Poehler was the least funny thing about Parks and Rec

Her character’s admiration of Joe Biden hasn’t aged well at all.

St Denis is great if you are a fan of the Office. It's basically the same show but in a hospital.

I agree. All the other characters like Ron, Andy, April, Ben, Tom and Jerry carried the show. Amy Pohler is just mildly funny and sometimes just bad in the show.

She absolutely was. As the show developed and found its footing, she wound up becoming the quirky straight man, and she was well-suited for it.
I've never found Poehler funny. It's apparent that just about everyone on that show has had a greater career afterwards than she has. Although I think her podcast is successful, even if I'm not the target demo.

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins was pretty funny. It's in the 30 Rock/Kimmy Schmidt mold, with Tracy Morgan and Bobby Moynihan.
Poker Face is a good killer of the week show with a decent through plot and great guest stars.

Once the show figured itself out, Leslie was the perfect "straight man" but quirky, and it worked perfectly with Ben as a straight man with his own quirks

I liked P&R, but it grew old on me and I never finished it. I found it tried too hard to mimic The Office and was lesser because of that.
But I will check this show out. I actually liked The Paper (Office spinoff) that came out a year or two ago. It was solid and better than it should've been IMO.

Amy Poehler kind of had her career already at the time of Parks and Rec, she was kind of fleshed out to the public by that point. She was an SNL girl....Tina Fey kind of had the same trajectory...SNL girl to 30 Rock. Neither of them have done anything after that and spare me the random Hollywood cheap failure.
All the others in 30 Rock were a bit newer and less exposed.
Has Aziz Ansari done a ton? Rashida Jones?
Chris Pratt was brand new at that point to a larger audience and he took off.

Crystal Lake (prequel tv series to Friday the 13th) is premiering in October. No idea if it'll be any good but Linda Cardellini is playing Pamela Voorhees

Ansari got MeeTooed, but he had a successful Netflix series for a while. He also wrote a book, Modern Love, that is excellent. I strongly encourage men to read it, as it walks through a great deal of social history around how dating has changed as a market. Audiobook is excellent.
Rashida Jones has focused more on writing and creating, rather than starring. She has a ton of credits, but I don't pretend to know them all.
Ben Schwartz, Aubrey Plaza (weirdass), Nick Offerman, Adam Scott have all gone on to major projects and roles.

Quite literally the worst attempted me too of them all
He had a bad date. That was it. Didn't even do anything wrong. And had his career cancelled for literally nothing

Never got the Amy Poehler Parks and Rec hate. I loved pretty much every character on the show (outside of S1 Mark obviously), including Leslie.

I love the Leslie Knope character. She's eccentric, but she's not *funny.* she doesn't have to be. She doesn't have to lead the comedic situations. Most of it happens around her.
Except her fight with Zakaitis. That shite is hilarious.

This tells me you never even watched the whole series, or at a minimum like being a contrarian.
The least funny thing about the show was the gay screaming fruit in the final season. Absolutely horrendous. Other than that idiot though everyone on the show was funny, poehler included.
