I don't get the Mark hate. I liked the guy, thought he got a raw deal. He was a good straight man in a show with tons of quirky characters. Maybe I'm biased because I just have never liked Adam Scott. Very punchable face.
Best character by far was Jean-Ralphio.

I'm currently rewatching the entire series now. Mark gets hate because the show was pretty bad when he was there. P&R actually starts getting good while Mark is still in the show, some people forget that.
I personally think the show is best when Ben and Leslie start becoming a thing. Ben is hilarious to me.
The worst character is S1 Andy.

My GOAT episode is the one where Jerry gets "mugged" and Ron teaches a self-defense class. Andy Samberg does a great appearance. And you're right- this all happens when Mark is still there, but maybe before Ben and Chris get there.
