So it's a reboot of BBQ pitmasters?

I'll check this out. I loved BBQ Pitmasters, especially the first season where it was more documentary style at big competitions vs the handful of teams competing against each other with three judges every week that they moved to, but it was still a good watch.

Johnny Trigg and Myron Mixon are GOATa and GOATb

I guess I'm used to Top Chef, but these "judges" were way too easy. The contestants had some character but skill was definitely lacking. The two non-judge hosts brought 0 to the table. No TX contestants.

But what bothered me the most. The judges and contestants all wore the same outfit for every episode. Did they wash them everyday? Did they buy 8 pairs of the same shirt/blouse? Why??

I had these same exact thoughts/questions. I still finished 4 episodes in one night though.

I started watching yesterday and got through the sandwich episode

I took me til the 3rd episode to also notice that they wear the same clothes every episode. The guy that cut his sleeves off has the sleeves cut off after that as well.

I googled it and found a reddit link where people were talking about it.

The theory is that if they wear the same clothes every episodes its easier for the editors to cut and paste clips from the entire season in different places so to add drama or laughs to certain episodes.

I guess they either wash them everyday or they have identical outfits and they had to cut ole baw's sleeves off of every shirt.

I'm watching it right now, but it ain't no BBQ Pitmasters. I'll watch any show about BBQ though. I'm not sure why, but them having the make sides drives me nuts. Just give them meat, smokers (not pellet grills) and let em go!

I enjoyed this and the Chef's Table BBQ episodes. Both are very good but very different shows.

I kept waiting for Grubbs to take off his bandana and a fake beard and be John Hamm deep in a Character role.

He sounds just like him when Hamm is doing the Reverend’s voice in Kimmi Schmidt

As to the show: it was fun.
I do Feel for the guy who was like: This isn’t BBQ idk how to do this.
