Amazing that Hollywood is now terrified of something they literally pre-progranmed.

Next they'll tell us military AI could one day become Skynet....

Sadly, is that prospect really that farfetched?

40 years later, outside of time travel, the underlying plot of Terminator seems plausible

If you don’t care about seeing a real person in the role, I’m wondering if you’re AI, minus the I.

And unsurprisingly this board acts in the way I'd expect it to. Big dumb liberals hurt muh feelings so I don't care if the industry gets overtaken by AI even if the only ones actually hurt by this are the part time actors who are never heard of and work paycheck to paycheck. How dare they try to live their dreams when they know the big bad liberal actors didn't react my favorite podcaster

We already have truckers growing more concerned with automated trucks, why would a company want to employee a trucker when they can just pay for a self driven truck.

I'd rather have automated trucks than the illegal immigrants they've been putting behind the wheel.

That could cut both ways. I've found there are those who expect considerations from people that they themselves would never offer. I suspect that's the story with these Hollywood people

I get you're standing firm for the industry. My question to you is simple: Is Hollywood putting out a better product now a days? There was a time not too long ago when people could count of going to several movies in a year with most being enjoyable. Now you're lucky to go to one or two and of that one may be decent.

Maybe the fear of loss will light a fire under their asses to put out better stories and actors and actresses to not "dial-in" their roles to collect a check.

The problem is your anger is directed at the actors and they don't have any say here. The studios will absolutely replace the actors given the chance. And the actors you're angry at are all insanely rich now so they're not going to be hurt nearly as bad. The ones that are getting fricked the hardest are the small time and part time actors, the ones you never hear about that work paycheck to paycheck praying they finally breakthrough.

Not to mention the writers, animators, and so on that unless they're insanely talented will never be heard of by the GA

Here's another take. If you're fan of "Star Trek", they have device called a "holodeck" where people can make just about any world and person in this artificial word. The vast majority of people that I've spoken to that is familiar with this would love to use this technology if it were real. IMO, these AI actors are at the beginning of a new for of entertainment.

The main reason movies have become how they are is because mega corps own all the major studios and they all run off focus groups in an effort to squeeze every last cent out for shareholders.

AI actors and writers wont change that shite one bit. It will make it even worse b/c all it's going to be doing is copying and rearranging what gets fed into it. It's never ever going to take a risk on something new b/c it can't.

It’s always been that way. It’s show business, not show art.

Why is it ok for everyone else to have their jobs threatened by AI but not them?

Famous Actors can be "Forever Young" by having their NIL turned in to an AI and be altered for whatever the role demands without plastic surgery, radical weight changes etc. Hell they could do 15+ projects a year. Not all AI's have to be completely made up people

Now that’s Damn interesting.

I think there's going to be a big correction with AI once the hype dies down.

If AI takes all of our jobs, then who will buy these companies' products? There has to be a balance.
