Ok, so what was Anakin in this? Actually in the WBW, force ghost, hallucination? I’m confused

I’m still going with he’s the Father. He showed himself as the light and the dark here.

And what an awesome episode. Pisses me off watching how awesome this was and how awesome Anakin was, and what could have been with the Obi-Wan series.

Pretty much.

I think that was also affecting her training of Sabine. They are not really at war anymore, but Ahsoka was trained during a war. Its all she’s known, and the way he taught her is not really appropriate to their current circumstances.

You can tell by her change of demeanor too. She’s far more light and bubbly(?) than before her experience with Anakin.

Can we all agree that the Mando-Boba-Ahsoka Filoni movie that ties all of this together is going to fricking rule?

I hope this isn’t the only time we see Anakin in this series.

Great episode. When Ashoka’s eyes momentarily changed to Sith eyes as she took Anakin’s saber and then they changed right back. In that moment, she fully rejected the dark side. I know that there are comparisons to Gandalf but I think there is also a similarity to Galadriel’s being able to reject the temptation of the Ring.

Filoni is what happens when a FAN (and not just a fanboy, but a true FAN) takes the helm.

No overpowered protagonist, no ham-fisted present-day politics, no deconstruction of beloved characters. Ahsoka is amazing and doesn't need to win every fight with both hands tied behind her back to prove it.

If I were to pick any "flaw" with the show (and it's not really the fault of the showrunners), it is that the short format (most episodes are only 30 minutes) is that we get very little interaction with the villains. Only Baylen has any real personality to speak of (and his is great, but I think I'd like to see his apprentice's personality more). Like, what happened to them after the fall of the Jedi Order? Did they live on the Outer Rim, eeking out an existence? Is he more akin to Count Dooku, a Jedi who simply felt the order was obsolete (as opposed to outright despising it like Palpatine, Maul, etc.)

Still though, AMAZING episode. 10/10.

Space whales are awesome.

In short- Anakin became a soldier; the soldier became Vader. Vader became Anakin again when he stopped being a soldier.

Does this explain why his force ghost is young Anakin? Never really understood why they changed that other than his appearance was more identifiable as young Anakin.

Disagree. Don’t think they’ll go that deep into the CW show lore. Really wish they had made clear what this Anakin was. My gut says force ghost that just appears differently in the WBW.

Huh Star Wars established that Anakin’s force ghost is young Anakin when they did the rerelease of ROTJ

Highly unpopular opinion, but I just didn't care for the episode, and I say that having liked everything up until this point. The Clone Wars flashbacks were cool. The Vader/ Anakin flickering was awesome. I did not like the pacing of the episode though. The lesson she was supposed to learn wasn't very clear either. I am also really curious as to the abilities Jason possesses if he was able to hear a light saber battle either within the WBW or within Ashoka's head... anyway, not trying to shite on anyone's enjoyment of the episode, it just didn't do it for me.

She needed to let go of her guilt of walking away from Anakin. She also accepted her dark side and rejected it. I forget the exact words but Anakin said what is him would also be in his Padawan. Someone correct me if I am wrong but that means she also carried his dark side with her. Just as he came back so could she

Based on that episode, I think her guilt is moreso just that she was the padawan of the most evil enforcer in the galaxy (“my part of that legacy is of death and war”) and she’s afraid to pass that legacy onto her own padawan which is why she left Sabine.

I do wonder if this all ends with Ashoka training Jacen.

Yeah I definitely think she’s carried that with her and that was ultimately something she HAD to confront. Can’t really blame her. She blames herself for leaving him and that leading to Anakin turning but also blames him for not really training her as a traditional Jedi and how that’s fueled a dark side in her she didn’t want to admit was always there. She didn’t want that to be her legacy she got from Anakin.

Turns out he really just wanted her to be herself and to never give up. That was the legacy he left her, not the Vader and dark side tendencies
