First 4 or so seasons of Family Guy are legit though.
The first 4 seasons were amazing and then the next 4 were still solid, but you can tell when Seth took on less of a writing role because he was spreading himself too thin. What used to be a smart comedy show became a shock comedy show. A lot of family guy's bits now revolve around animated body disfigurement.

Bart had been doing that for almost 10 years at that point

Not even close to the level of South Park.

Southpark's future predictions are more akin to Mike Judge's Idiocracy, built on seeing the world through the lens of "the crazy ones are simply too tenacious to lose" when it comes to how society evolves.
As evidence I give...
Mr. Garrison (appeared in the first SP episode in 1997): An effeminate-sounding, yet heterosexual, male character who eventually comes out as gay (2001, I think), then wants to be thought of as a female (Mrs. Garrison), then gets transition surgery (2005), then decides he is a lesbian (2007), then goes through de-transition surgery and wants everyone to think of him as a male again (2008).
That seemed to be the height of absurdity a decade or two ago. Today?

South Park was not only hilarious, it gave a huge voice to politically incorrect opinions and it was targeted toward the demo most likely to fall into the political correctness craze.
You could probably credibly argue South Park was a major force in holding off the inevitable creep of wokism in America.

The early seasons of FG are comparable to the best of South Park and The Simpsons. Probably long-term comparable to the Simpsons, but the bulk of FG is meh compared to the bulk of South Park.

I'd generally agree with you. But SouthPark did have its moments. The episode about Scientology and John Travolta and Tom Cruise coming out of the closet might’ve been one of the funniest things ever to appear on TV.

i prefer Family Guy as well.
i especially like the way Stewie has evolved.
Genius level intellect with the machines he invents and builds, but also still very baby like and learning his shapes, etc.

Now. Simpsons has sucked for years. South park was the best before it started doing season long themes.

Nothing beats The Simpson's in the 90s. That was some of the greatest comedic writing ever.
This 100%

The funniest thing about this is that after all that, they made him their stand-in for Trump.

South Park seasons 2-8 are on a different level than anything else out there. Simpsons was great but nowhere near peak South Park. Family Guy is good but never reached must-see tv status. Honestly, King of the Hill would be my second.
1. South Park
2. King of the Hill
3. The Simpsons
4. Family Guy

South Park was great when chef was around.
Any questions the boys had, chef would answer with a love song.

I was a SR in college and my dad called me and said, "turn it to channel 39, there's a turd on screen singing Christmas songs."
That's how I met Mr. Hankey.

South Park is tGOAT. Didn’t MacFarlane decide to talk shite and that’s how those episodes of SP trashing Family Guy started? Those were hilarious.
