I'm of the opinion that most actors and actresses, are pretty good at what they do. That some of them just don't seem good (not saying great) because they aren't given a good script to go with.

For example, Ethan Hawke. I've never thought he was a good actor (granted he has a huge catalog and I haven't seen all his movies). But then I watched The Good Lord Bird mini-series and he was incredible in it. Awesome show, awesome writing (based off a book) and he was fantastic in it.

Or Robert Pattinson. He was horrendous in Twilight. But Twilight in general was horrendous. But you put him in some indie films like The Lighthouse and The King, or now a big time movie The Batman, and you're like, holy crap, this dude is a fantastic actor.

Dakota Johnson is a good example for an actress.

But who are some that are legitimately bad at acting? People that stand out as bad in most everything they do.

There are some obvious answers but I've always found Chris Evans to be fairly weak. His performances, at times, can really take me out of a scene.

The actor who plays Jonah Byrde in Ozark got MUCH worse as he got older. Distractingly bad in the first half of the last season (haven't seen the second half yet)

Jeffery Donovan picked two TV roles that were fantastic for him (Burn Notice and Touching Evil) but has been horrendous in literally everything else he's been in.

Hayden Christensen played Bob Dylan in that movie about Andy Warhol. I think it's called Factory Girl? I thought he was pretty good in that one at least.

I thought Charlize Theron was bad early in her career. She was pretty cringy in Devils Advocate and Mighty Joe Young. But, she got substantially better over the years.

He is in that new Andrew Garfield Mormon murder mystery series. I had to do a double-take when he popped on screen.

LaBeouf and Drew Barrymore as adults.

Megan Fox and Katherine Heigl are low hanging fruit (rightfully so).

Tayler Lautner (and it is hard to look bad in a film franchise filled with bad actors and actresses, but he took that as a challenge)

Hayden Christenson
