This recent trilogy has something missing that creates the pulse of the Star Wars franchise. Small parts of Rogue One managed to bring it back. Star Wars is all about this...

Rogue One is not good. All of the characters are terrible and I could not care less about any of them.

I'm not sure how anyone can tell someone that they are "wrong" when they say something is boring. That is a personal thing. If they find it boring, then who is anyone else to say that is "wrong"?
I didn't find it boring at all, but that doesn't make him wrong.

I enjoyed the movie because it represented the "Star Wars Universe" better than anything outside the OT.
I also enjoyed the story, as basic as the plot was.
I agree with your assessment of the characters though. I didn't really seem to care all that much when they got obliterated on that planet.
