I honestly have no idea which people you're referring.
Hollywood or the mythical people who said Snow White would contend with a Minecraft movie.
One was needlessly a colossal failure. The other was a success, despite it being a trash movie.

I took 2 of our kids and their friends to it opening night, but didn’t watch it myself. They said it’s the best gaming movie, ever.
At the beach this week, it was pouring rain and the kids wanted to see it. I took the whole gang and watched it with them this time. It was funny, it had all the gags and tributes kids wanted, and enough that they’ll want to watch over and over to catch.
The theater was packed Monday morning, and the kids cheered and reacted to the screen. On the way out, kids were streaming in, wearing their licensed Minecraft gear. I think it was on at least 4 screens at this theater.
This movie is going to blow past a billion. Not all movies are great cinema…they just have to deliver what the target audience is expecting, and this movie does.

They started the adult happy meals last year I believe. I first noticed it around halloween when they had branded retro toys. Nostalgia is a powerful drug

Agree. A live-action shot-for-shot remake would have made a billion.

Maybe not as popular but live action remakes Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Alice in Wonderland did pretty well. Snow White would have killed if done well.

Point to anywhere in this thread where I said that I saw the movie.
What I said was that I have played the game, years ago, and understand its popularity.
Two things can be true at the same time. The Minecraft movie is trash especially if you are a devout fan of the game, and it also can make a boatload of money.
How is this hard for you to understand?

I like that they're doing stuff like this. My youngest son still likes the happy meal, but the older one is getting a little old for it. But they both love Minecraft and I saw in the app they were doing that for happy meals so I took them by last Friday after school. He wants a bigger burger than the little happy meal one, so he got to get a Big Mac and a slightly larger Minecraft toy than the one that comes with the Happy Meal.
