A favorite of mine, I watched this with my son last night and it holds up well. Great acting and supporting cast. Wish we could have had more Heath Ledger before his time was up.

Paul Bettany’s featured scenes were gold. Alan Tudyk was a perfect fit for their gang. After watching it and thinking of the “most hated villain” thread, Count Adhemar is probably near the top. He has one of the most punchable faces throughout the entire film. I remember the first time I watched this thinking to myself why did they choose Shannyn Sossamon as the love interest, but on the rewatch I found her to be pretty and engaging enough to fit the role well. This time around I more appreciated what Laura Fraser’s blacksmith role added to the story.

And a post on this film isn’t complete without acknowledging how great the incorporation of the score is.

One of my guilty pleasure films.

One of the few movies that if I’m flipping channels and see that it is on I will stop and start watching it now matter how far long into the movie it is

My wife and I both love this movie. Some people crapped on it due to the anachronisms, but that's just taking it too seriously. It's an awesome movie, and just a plain fun one.

Whiny fricks will be like, "Why does the princess have spiked hair?" "The armor is wrong!" "A female blacksmith? BLASPHEMY!" They need to get over themselves.

She beat out Kate Hudson for it too. She took a lot of heat for it, critics called her the worst part of the film. It was her first film too, some casting couch advantage?

you can get it cheap during most vudu sales and its got good rewatchability.

both the blacksmith and the love interests assistant were more attractive.

Bowie song is a highlight

She wasn't great in this, but still better than the last 2 seasons of Game of Thrones.

What? Too soon?

Come at me, bro.

I didn’t realize this. I think if it were Hudson it would detract from it for me on the rewatch(es). Looking back, Sossamon was a good choice.

Dude was gonna be an all-timer.

The “I AM A KNIGHT” scene when they’re trying to convince him to flee gets me misty every damn time.

Loved this film, wholesome without an agenda. Just fun and entertaining in the classic sense.

She fits the vibe of the story to a T and the character. She’s basically a medieval punk rock chick. Hudson would have been a horrible choice.

I've always wondered if Broadway could make a play of this. It's a perfect storyline.

Hudson would have played it conventionally - and I don’t think that would have worked with the rock opera setting.
