These are expected to be the big theatrical releases this year. On the surface it looks better than 2023 but I'm sure as we get closer to release date on some of these we will most are just the same old garbage. Cautiously optimistic though.

I’m a big fan of the recent Apes trilogy. Hopefully this new one is decent.

Good lord at the remakes/reboots of previous franchises. Just money grabs everywhere

Remakes, sequels. b-shelf comic movies and spinoffs. Sounds like the last few years all over again.

Are those the only 3 original IPs on there? Out of 29?

There are more films on that list I’ll prolly see in theater than I did this past year.

Last movie I watched in the theater was Dune Part I. Dune Part II is the only movie I'll see in the theater this year, and probably for several years after.
Hollywood is unimaginative trash now, with a few notable exceptions. That release schedule rather succinctly demonstrates this.

Hollywood is dead.
Hopefully Tarrantio will have The Movie Critic finished and released in 24.

Maybe Dune and Deadpool. I may just wait until they come out on streaming.

I wonder if we actually get half of these in 24.

So many remakes/sequels. Wish we’d see more originals. But there are a few I look forward to.

I'm pretty sure there will be more than 29 films released in 2024.

Astute. We’re also talking about the posted list.

Someone tell me about Gladiator II and LOTR?

The Rohirrim movie is apparently animated. I would have guessed it was going straight to Amazon but maybe they want to put it in theaters first. Gladiator 2 stars Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal. I think originally it was about Maximus going to gladiator heaven but who knows.

Directed by Ridley Scott. The new Gladiator is Paul Mescal. He played a really sad dad in Aftersun, the only thing I've seen him in. AFAIK he's never done an action role, so this is a weird choice. He plays the grown-up Lucius.
Oh I just learned that Connie Nielsen reprises her previous role, and Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal are new characters. Darn, Djimon Hounsou was originally signed to reprise his role but he reportedly dropped out because of scheduling conflicts. His little speech at the end of Gladiator is one of my all-time favorite endings.

There are a few of those I want to see, though unlikely in theaters. But…
Gladiator 2?
Mufasa?
Twisters?
Karate Kid?
No fricking thanks.
