Y’all tell me what happened last episode so I don’t have to watch it.? The show gives me anxiety.

a. At the beginning of Season 2, we learn that the Earl has granted her release at the Port where Spencer was discharged from the ship and the two meet up and travel to London and meet mommy and daddy. Who after meeting Spencer and a brief conversation, they give their blessing to the marriage and possibly legalize the bond. Thus securing her future and current financial status. Then off to Montana with the aid of the British Royals.
This is where I am at. Both ship captains have pointed out they are definitely in love with each other and in the end the Earl looked as he may have made a mistake in his actions when the British captain said that. Like he told his son do not ignore your dignity but yet his actions now have done the same thing. My guess is the Earl will help somehow and once they arrive in London the Spencer will win over the family due to being in the war and them losing their son to it.

The Indian parts are a waste of time and have nothing to do with the plot.
This I do agree with especially now they have left Montana and going the opposite direction of YS.

I’m just glad this was the finale and half the people on the board can quit watching since they hate it so much

Niles challenging Spencer was comical. I guess he figured no way spencer could beat him in a sword fight? I love the whole glove slapping thing.
I think in the end the Earl will let her go. I mean, she can't exactly marry Niles now. Holding her would just be for spite.
I don't mind the Indian thing. It's done to show Rainwater's origin. The killer priests is a nice twist.
I'm with other posters, I think Spencer and Alex get to Montana, Spencer does the fighting and Alex's family money saves Yellowstone.

More not killing folks and more of the “good” guys losing.
- prostitutes got whipped by each other.
- cowhand lost his Asian wife who got arrested for being married to a white dude.
- miner dude paid the property taxes on the YS so now Harrison Ford owes him money.
- bank turned him down for a hay loan and wanted him to have a mortgage.
- murderer sheep herder dude got acquitted of his murder charges at the arraignment- a bench discussion apparently served as a preliminary exam. Oh the legal faux pas of that whole deal.
- Spencer and the English chick / wife got in the same ship as her ex and his family. He was a prissy little fellow who kept getting his arse kicked by Spencer. Prissy fellow slapped Spencer with a glove and challenged him to a dual on the deck with swords. Spencer whipped his arse and kicked his sword away, and laid his sword down. Prissy guy ran at him and pulled a gun and Spencer threw his arse off the ship. Spencer got thrown in the brig and wife chick kicked in her cabin. Come to find out sons Dad was the Duke of Earl or Chesterfordshireingtonham or something and and made the Captain do all this. They basically kicked Spencer off the ship and girl got out and screamed Bozeman Montana.
Ok so I guess one dude died but it had nothing to do with the YS.
- Actually some more dudes died. Priests got killed tracking the girl. The girl, her Daddy, and another guy headed South to the Comanche reservation. The bad priest and some law men decided to just ride then train after them instead. What any of that had to do with the YS I don’t know.
This whole series sucked us in thinking it was going to be something, but it was a whole lot of nothing. Hours of just waiting around. Horribly written and that whole series may have been the shark jump for me - that and John Dutton being the governor.
The more we watch, the less we care about the characters. How can a writer or rather, why would a writer write a series where you slowly just not care anymore about the main characters?

Thanks for the recap.
I agree the writing is lackluster to say the least. They had an opportunity to blow it out of the water with 1923, but failed. It seemed after every episode I found myself shaking my head. Season 1 was a joke.

The show has a lot of potential and hopefully season 2 will bring everyone to Montana finally. I think the one thing that frustrated people were the multiple story arcs that still are over the place and like Rainwater no clu where it is going

I think they will really pick up when Spencer gets to the ranch

I know nothing about the history on Montana economics but isn't one of the central themes of Yellowstone that cattle aren't a viable business anymore, with the implication that it used to be big business. Now we are to believe even 100 years ago they couldn't afford their ranch but have managed to keep it and expand in the interim?

Like all commodities, there are booms and there are busts. Each bust is likely to leave an undersupply in the market, fueling the next boom.

I am pretty disappointed in this season, because I think it could have been so much more. I keep feeling like it is slow and something needs to happen, but hell…there was a sword duel and a dude getting thrown off an ocean liner. And dead priests. And hookers beating the shite out of each other while Timothy Dalton looks on…yet somehow I still feel nothing happened. That is a problem. Maybe it will gel better next season.
We discussed while watching that this seems to be where the Duttons learn that, unless you are in some position of governmental power, legal channels are not so effective and just killing the hell out of people works better. By the time Yellowstone begins, the Duttons are doing both—holding high office and killing baddies.

Just not getting into this show. I think the Africa/return from Africa part of the story distracts as it's so disconnected.

You don't like Assassin Priests and Ghost Ships?

Alex's family money saves Yellowstone.
You would think they would mention this in the main series at some point. "hey remember when old great uncle Spencer got hitched to a Duke's daughter and made us financial solvent?" "Oh yeah, that's how John was able to afford hair plugs."
Posted on 2/27/23 at 1:01 pm to Cajunhawk81
eh, it's set 100 years before modern day Yellowstone. They don't talk a lot about James's struggles or Jacob's for that matter.

I don't recall reading about Catholics killing Indians.
The Mormons had some badasses though.

Because its one border line unbelievable scenario after another. Spencer Dutton is by far the most interesting character in the series and they've made his story arch as believable as forrest gump.
fends off bull elephant
