From what map review I could find, the best way to get out of Kenya was to take a ship through Suez..
They specifically addressed this in the show. Are you watching the same show as everyone else?
Also….you needed to look at a map for that?
I checked to see what rail lines were available in Africa in 1923...there were trains in Kenya, wanted to see where they went.

Has anyone brought up how the indian guy who is aiding Teonna waits until she gets her face pummeled to a pulp before he intervenes when he clearly could have acted before that occurred? Then gets himself killed by not making sure the one aggressor was dead? Pretty incompetent work there Chief Lame Deer.

Not to mention left his gun there to make sure the priest had to kill him with.

Yeah, thought that was one of the dumbest sequences I had seen in a while.

I’ve seen the trains down in Africa

The prostitute scenes were unnecessary. They should’ve replaced them with Spencer and Alex scenes.

Yea because those have been excellent?
The writing and acting is so fricking cringe. It’s LOL most of the time at this point.
Harrison Ford is incredibly bad. Mirren has also almost become a parody.

What I expected in the season finale. Hopefully season 2 will finally open up with all story lines coming together.

I was shocked by the ending. Do you think Spencer’s wife will make it to the Yellowstone?

I was shocked as well….what I don’t understand at this point….was Spencer simply thrown off the ship?
Alexandra could get hold of the American Embassy in London and start raising all sorts of Hell….
I wonder of the old man will ever realize how badly he screwed up?
Based on the scene we’ve seen, he could have a DSC or even a Medal of Honor, papers on both sides of the Atlantic would have a field day with this scandal!!!!!!

I think she makes it and with her family wealth bails the Duttons somehow in their debt to the dickhead miner.

I thought they called the ex-boyfriend the Duke of Sussex but later called Alex the Countess of Sussex. Seems a little close in title to each other.
I think Alex’s sea sickness may turn out to be pregnancy. The actor who plays Beth is British. It sort of connects to a British line in the family. The dudes story runs parallel to Casey and the next story 1944 will likely have a Dutton in WW2. So we have a Dutton in the Civil War, WW1, WW2 and not sure if one was in Vietnam?? And then Casey in the War in Afghanistan.
The prostitute scene is about showing the miner is not a gentleman and enjoys the power of hurting the weak. He has one prostitute whip another. Then he has the whipped then whip the whipper.
The 1st had a conscious. The whipped did not have the same conscious when she had the power to whip the person who whipped her.
Does this scene with him standing back and manipulating the interaction of the prostitutes also resemble the relationship between the miner and Banner and the Duttons. He is pulling the strings and enjoying the carnage and this episode shows Banner is a tool, but the real enemy is the miner and once again progress.

I was not shocked in regards to them no making it to the US and figured something was not going to end well once the family and ex showed up in the last episode.
Him getting tossed overboard was obvious the moment they got on the deck to dual with Spencer back to the railing. You could see that coming all day and was actually pleased it. Do not mess with Spencer as he already told the dad to get his son out of there.
I think she will sometime next season and as someone mentioned with child possibly but I could also see Spencer going to London to bring her with him.

I was thinking the same thing that she may be the means to save the ranch with her money.

I enjoyed the season. With this supposed 1944 coming out and a second season of 1923 renewed, I am curious to know which comes out first. Also a supposed 6666 Ranch spin off? If Kevin Costner is actually leaving I guess the 6666 spinoff may have to pick up on the YS story because besides having him die somehow (off screen, which would be odd based on his presence in the YS show) I am not sure how that is going to keep the modern episodes going.
ETA: Then again I guess they could just say he went and sat under a tree with a bottle of whiskey and let the land take him.

Was not expecting that type of ending. The “Countess” angle sure does change things.
Like already stated, I think Alex is the financial part of the building the Yellowstone Empire as well as expanding it. The only questions now is how do the two reunite and how does she get her money. I have two theories already.
a. At the beginning of Season 2, we learn that the Earl has granted her release at the Port where Spencer was discharged from the ship and the two meet up and travel to London and meet mommy and daddy. Who after meeting Spencer and a brief conversation, they give their blessing to the marriage and possibly legalize the bond. Thus securing her future and current financial status. Then off to Montana with the aid of the British Royals.
b. Alex gets off the ship and goes back to mommy and daddy. While there, they have a disagreement about the events in Africa, but know the “wild spirit” that their daughter possesses and knows she will follow her own path. She tells them of the events of Africa, the Tug Boat, the duel, and the actions of the Earl. While in London, she learns she is pregnant. From there, her parents will fund and assist her venture to Montana (they won’t let her travel alone) or assist in locating Spencer.

This show is all over the place. I want to like it but honestly it’s been terrible so far. The Indian parts are a waste of time and have nothing to do with the plot. They should have focused on the war between Dutton and bannor and Spencer’s return from Africa.

This show had so much potential. We laughed out loud a few different times about the ridiculous scenes and conversations.
Almost every scene this episode was going to end in worse case scenario form. Just so predictable.
It's frustrating because they have the budget and the acting to do better, but insist on catering to the dumbed down soap opera crowd.
