Way too slow. Too much fluff. Sheridan is just f’n with us now. Last ep was strange and not interesting. I didn’t enjoy it. This show has started out the way Yellowstone has become.
Boring and uninspiring.

Yeah, I'm just not getting into this show. Don't give a frick about the Indian school crap and the swings over to Africa felt very disconnected.

I understand he’s a badass, but I’m also failing to see how he’s going to make such a huge difference in a 1920’s gunfight. There’s no way he is the only guy on either side who was in the war. At the end of the day he’s just one extra gun but they act like T-1000 is making his way across the ocean.
If I had to guess right now, at the pace it’s going, he actually misses the fight, but shows up with a claim to the ranch so he keeps it.

1923 has been renewed for a Season 2. My guess is that he's more of a strategic badass that will overcome the families' enemies mainly by wit and of course a little physical badassery that you'd expect.
Bronn has been setup as a dumbass while Spencer has been cunning. I'd expect this to carry over to Season 2 where Spencer outsmarts his opponents.

We’re going to see something similar to the two leopards situation but with people.

5 episodes in, Sheridan’s biggest weakness is making the most unlikeable, unbearable characters strangely overpowered and unkillable. He’s molding them in his own image, through his own distorted lens. He’s Beth Dutton, He’s Spencer Dutton/annoying British wife, he’s the Indian Girl going MMA on Nuns. This is what he thinks everyone wants to see, because it looks so damn good through his eyes.
It sucks because 1923 has actual acting talent doing good work making you actually want to watch it, interspersed with Sheridan fan fiction of himself. We’d be better off with more Duttons vs Dirty Scotsman/Banker. That’s good stuff…for now.

WTF? she might be the best part of the show.

You might need therapy.
Edit: I’m not talking about Hellen Mirren. She’s a powerhouse actor I can believe doing good work. Spencer’s British wife. The unnecessary babbling twat

Dang I guess I’m in the minority but I love the show. Mirron knows Spencer is the Alpha and can right the ship and she knows it will take 6 months for him to get here and Ford is month to month.
I loved the Africa scenes and beauty

Man you are a glutton for punishment.

is it punishment if you enjoy it?

the only gluttons for punishment are those who consistently watch shite that doesn't interest them, has elements that they hate, or is something they consider woke/pandering all for the sake of constantly shitting on said show/movie on a message board.

yea its hilarious
The same people come in week after week on threads about Yellowstone and 1923 and 1883 and shite on the show and say they are done watching. yet they show up the next week repeating the same thing

There are folks on this board who simply CAN NOT enjoy a tv show or a movie. They just don't have it in them.

This is what happens when hollywoods most “special” screenwriter gets a hold of Howard zinn’s “a people’s history of the United States”

I’ve never understood people getting mad at other peoples happiness.
If the show is not for you, then quit watching and let other people enjoy it. Yet people go extreme and make fun of those people on message boards

To each their own. I can look way past the T&A on this. It's nice, but it's fleeting. The whole Africa storyline is all sorts of stupid. It's pointless and reeks of Sheridan's "you know what would be really cool" attitude, but hits with all the force of a wet fart. I'm surprised Spencer didn't hijack a jet plane (created by Spencer) to fly home super fast while his ditzy wife shook her tits and talked endlessly.

Me too.
I haven't seen too many depictions of this time period, so it's interesting just to watch from that perspective.
I think it fits into a pretty unique niche of intertwining 'cowboy and Casablanca' themes, and the looming aspect of modernization is pretty intriguing.
Of course it's not perfect, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

Agreed. I hope they don't "Beth" her. You know what I mean.
Also, not really British. She's the rare occasion that an American is playing a Brit. I didn't know this until I saw an interview with her recently so shut up if you (not directed at Morbid) knew already.
